Influences
BXF, Trampolines!, Hotel Barber, Baltimore, Hot Wax, Lynne Lays Asleep, Bird Announced Land, Make Amends, Mike Parvizi, and a few sketchy bands from Los Angeles.
After the success of "It's a Wonder we had Such a Good Season," Ben Joseph will release his new album, "Shoot the Piano Player," later this summer. ********
Joseph brings a jazzy sensibility, and a rather twisted experimental side to his progressive indie albums. Fresh Latin influences and a pop foundation akin to Brian Wilson and James Pankow are supported on his sophomore release by his West-Coast band featuring horns, strings, and a $50 organ.********

no, i don't think i know anyone by that name. i did see matt a few times, though. i actually almost joined the same frat that he did. well, good luck with school and your musical career. i'll be following the process via myspace.
Ben, my friend, how goes it? You know, I didn't know you were doing anything besides a&r, but i gotta say, I am definitely liking your solo stuff. oh, and did you mom ever tell you that she called me a couple months ago? i can't remember why, but we had a short and surprisingly un-awkward conversation, considering we had never met.
we're doing pretty good too. we just played a show on saturday and it was awesome. some really gay kid, don't ever use him if you want to record. we love you ben.
hey ben, so i'm in the process of trying to figure this whole rehearsal thing out because everytime i book a room i get a response saying that it's taken or something. so i'm trying to scout out alternate rehearsal spaces and whatnot. but i'll letcha know when i figure it all out or something. ;). and i still haven't heard the classic remix thinger. *hehe*.
cool beans. we're supposed to be shooting saturday roughly from 12 - 4. but i'm trying to get everyone to meet @ the Buckingham @ around 11:30-ish or w/e so I can brief everyone I suppose so that we're all on the same page regarding the concept of the video. AND by the way, if you have any kind of black knitted sweaters, bulky clothes, old looking clothes, old shoes, etc. - it would be splendid if you brought / wore them. Lol.
Hey Ben! I just got your comment....have been on Facebook more than MySpace recently! anyhow I am glad Chicago is treating you well. Hope to see you if you're home for a visit--drop by school if you feel like it!
