The Berlin Project is back and performing again. We look forward to seeing you all again VERY soon. No tours in the works, but we will be doing dates here and there. John and Chuck(along with our two new members) feel we have one album left in The Berlin Project. But, in the interim you can see we have added some songs from some of our old albums as well as a new demo called "Get Me When I'm Gone". We hope you enjoy
Now for those not familiar...
The Berlin Project was, is?, and will always be one of the hardest working and longest touring bands ever to come out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The band was known for line up complications but that never stopped them from making multiple albums and selling tens of thousands of records all over the world (and by world we mean US, Canada, Japan and perhaps the rare album sold somewhere else via digital distribution).
Many of those records were sold before the days of online media reigning champion on the music industry. With two releases on San Fransisco Bay area Orange Peal Records(which took off after the moderate success of The Berlin Project), the band still managed to sell an additional 20,000+ units through online outlets of their self released albums as mediums such as Itunes and Amazon started to take stride.
The band spent most of the year on tour or in the recording studio. Fans could catch the band at concert venues with other modest national acts like The Matches, Steel Train, Punchline plus numerous summer jaunts on the Van's Warped tour.
The band came to an untimely end in 2004 when the band had to cancel a co headling tour with Name Taken due to some personally illness on John's behalf. This ended up being a problem the could not be dealt with in short time. The band kept mum over the next year. Over the winter of '04-'05 Trevor Gwillam of Clearview Kills filled in for John on Guitar for a weekend of shows with Punchline throughout Pennsylvania and New York. In Fall 2005 The Berlin Project performed their last headlining dates in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
After The Berlin Project the band members(and there were many over the years) went in to seperate projects.
Jon Belan joined Punchline and also fronts the band Gene The Werewolf
Nick Revak who was the glue that held TBP together through tough times tour managed some wonderful bands like Valencia and Punchline and also plays drums in Gene The Werewolf
Chuck Rocka joined Craig's Brother for a few tours and is now back in Western Pennsylvania
Tim Schultz plays bass in Gene The Werewolf and is a boating enthusiast.
Aaron Mediate is still the best man you will ever meet (and plays keys with the rest of the Werewolves.)
Brad Evanovich joined Clearview Kills for a short while, but now is a traveling salesman(seriously)
Brian Camp is just getting back in to music. Look forward to hearing from him
and John Garrighan was a booking agent for Lucky Artist representing bands like The Secret Handshake and The Fold for a while before doing A & R at Takeover Records where he signed River City High. Though currently he runs a small business in Pittsburgh and is a proud father. He has been tinkering with a solo record.
