Rising from the ashes of Springfield's finest pop-punk act, The BHS Band is here to show Springfield (and the world) how the pop-punk scene is supposed to be. Be on the lookout for shows and new recordings coming your way this year!
For the n00bz who don't know who we are:
The BHS Band started a long time ago. In 1999, 3 dudes decided to start jammin' on Blink-182 and Sum 41 covers in the guitar players bedroom. That's a band, right? Every band needs a name, right? Right. We called ourselves, the Banana Hammick Soldiers. God, to be 14 again. Anyway, covers in the bedroom turned into playing original songs live and short weekends across the midwest. We started getting a little more serious, so we figured we'd probably better not have a name referencing man thongs anymore. BHS it is. What's it stand for? Nothing. It doesn't stand for anything. We were just BHS. (Just like John is just John.[<-Tongue twister?]) Anyway, we played up through 2004 sometime. Then, through a guitar player in college and a guitar player with a girlfriend and a guitar player who apparently hated playing music, we just kinda fell apart.
FLASH FORWARD!
It's now 2009. Gary and John have remained friends while guitar player grew more and more distant. Gary and John are sitting around one day, reminiscing on the good ol' days and decide that BHS shall live again. But this time, it would be different. A new guitar player/vocalist or 2 seemed like a good idea. But who to choose? How about Mason and Earl? That wasn't hard. So a new name then? Sure; why not. How about "The BHS Band?" Hells yeah.
With a full line up and more determination than ever, we're back.
