Imagine a jam session with Ennio Morricone and The Ventures...imagine Clint Eastwood, dirty hat and guns drawn, high-plains-drifting on a surfboard...
The Big Guns have carved a distinctive niche in the area music scene by combining a powerful all-instrumental blend of ‘60s-era surf and twang with the catchy, haunting melodies produced for the famous Spaghetti Western movie series. A typical gig songlist might feature guitar instrumentals that float cleverly between the realms of Surf (The Ventures), Spaghetti Western movie themes (Ennio Morricone), and Twang (Duane Eddy, Link Wray). Expect tons of crowd participation - from sing alongs - "Yup!" - to our legendary hula-hoop contest.
As one reporter summed it up, The big Guns are "Very cool, and timelessly retro." Whatever that means. Come on out and see for yourself. We love ya.
