Celebrities On the Air

Celebrities -- including politicians, sports figures, musicians, university officials, and others -- will be recorded reading passages from the book. These recordings will air on WUMB-FM throughout the duration of the program until May 10.
Senior Discussion Group
Location: The Labouré Center of Catholic Charities, Boston, MA 02127
The Labouré Center was founded in 1907 by the Knights of Columbus to care for the children of immigrant working parents. The Center will invite a group of seniors to join in a group that will discuss issues raised in "To Kill a Mockingbird" through April 26.

Event arranged by Trotter Institute of UMass Boston. The organization "HELP for Black Males" was designed to initiate dialogue and action aimed at increasing awareness and effecting positive change towards the health care needs of men of African descent. The discussion group will compare the book's social/political issues to African American men’s real life experiences with the penal system, or as Dr. James Cone describes, “legal lynching.”
