We jammed, we liked it. We kept jamming, we kept liking it...and we laughed a lot too. We picked some songs to try and play...they made us smile a lot and now...HERE WE COME...to a bar, party, wedding near you. Anything is possible!
Our top friends are some of us, or other bands we are in. The Barn and Live Tiger Exhibit have recordings of the previously mentioned jams that this little band came out of.
And then, some of our top friends are some of the biggest funk and soul influences on us. Do a little exploring...check out some of these musicians who played what Maceo Parker likes to refer to as "happy music...music that makes you move and shake your body and say things like...uhh and good god".
ENJOY!
Here's a few clips from our recent jam from Sunday 1/27/08!
I was hoping there wasn't a Big Shoe event tomorrow because The JP BAND is hitting The Colony Cafe April 25th... ah, decisions to make people! My band plays from 7-8PM so maybe I'll see you there. Rock on!
JP BAND (aka crookedtoe) at The Colony Cafe (22 Rock City Road WOODSTOCK!) 7-8PM. With... Dave Kearney, This Island Earth and The Nervous Band.
Hey you guys! Me and my mates were over (from Ireland) in Bronx for Paddy's and saw you guys in the Bayou! You rocked, definitely one of the best bands I have seen in a long time :) Hopefully we will get to see ye again some time!
I said you boys got alot o soul... and some laces and such. I would like to put together a Big Shoe,Voodelic double bill this summer if yall are inta it.
Damn! Big Shoe in Catskill... who would have thunk it? I know my grammer is poor, but my appreciation is vast! Thanks for rocking us last night at Doubles II. For that alone, I'd say it was worth the hassle of tearing everything down and setting it back up 30 minutes before go time! Thanks for kicking ass. There was a lot of positive feedback about The Big Shoe. Now stay in touch!
