The Bionics are a studio band consisting of Danielle Moore and Tim Davies (Crazy P) plus producer Ben Davis (paperecordings / Flash Atkins) joined by a shared interest in wonky dance music and robots.
A musical magnetic pull tempted them in to the cellar that is Flash Studios where they clank instruments and non-instruments, feed them in to the Master Computer then apply the lubricant of Danielle’s vocals and lyrics. The results are organic electronics and natural digitalism with roots in pop, house, techno and disco aimed at the heart, feet and head.
Solid Silver was released on Nottingham’s Bocajito Records which has been responsible for some disco-super-slow-burning dance albums from Secret Stealth, Floorman and Neon Heights.
The album was very well received with four out of five reviews in idj "a solid gold hit", M8 and various other dance magazines. It also got licensed in Australia through Creative Vibes to a great reception. Check out some of the press on the photos page.
The first single Love Chains was out digitally and on 12" with a very special Greg Wilson edit. The second single Deaf Love is out now with mixes from The Weasel (Tim's alter-ego), Big Kid, 3am's Al Bradley plus a Bionics remix of Time To Get it Right.
You can catch Danni and Ben dj-ing around the land although Ben may be wearing tights and calling himself Flash Atkins.
