Bishop Mayfield was born in N.Y.C and. has been singing since the age of 5. He has been a fixture up and down California & Canada since 1966. He has Jammed with or open for, such greats as Albert Collins, B.B. King, Al Wilson, Martha Reeves & The Vandella's, My brother Big John Michaels, Tower Of Power, Jr. Walker & The Allstars, Charlie Musslewhite, Ike & Tina Turner, Milo. Sugar Pie Desantos, John Lee Hooker, Wille Littlefield, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Jose Feliciano, James Brown, Robert Cray, Graham Central Station, Bo Diddley, Earl Thomas, Etta James. Barbara Morrison, Crackin', Neal Schon, Sonny Terry & Brownie Magee, The Neville Brothers, Tom Lawson, Jamey De Maria, Joe Vallaire, Billy Vallaire, Tamas Marius, Lee Durley & Illuminati, Dennis Murphy, Brian James, Steve Smith, Bill Moehnke, Tim Stretton, Dan Wanger, David Vega. He has also Co-Produced many West African Drum & Dance performances and workshops as well as producing and co-producing many benefits and has recently been in the Monterey area playing with Red Beans & Rice, Where has played for the Garlic Fest, The Artichoke Fest, The Seafood Fest, Laguna Sega, The Capitola Twilght Series, The Pepsi Block Party, Sly Mc Flys, Monterey Live, The Misson Ranch, Keystone Corners in Palo Alto, Berkley, & San Francisco, Bisquit & Blues in S.F. The Circle Star Theatre in San Carlos, Whiskey Hill in Burlingame andJJ's Blues club in San Jose to name a few in the bay area. He has performed in numerous Church's. And is just as comfortable singing Gospel as he is singing Funk, Jazz, or Blues. He has played the Monterey Bay Blues Festival for the last 6yrs. As well.
