The Bismarck is a rock band that plays rock music. Playing shows and making records is just part of the deal and they do these things, too. Referring to themselves in the third person is strictly a web site thing though Nate does this from time to time.
The band is comprised of four long-time friends from Grand Forks, North Dakota (well, Jury’s from Bismarck originally, but who’s counting?) who have slowly migrated out to the west coast.
The Bismarck is a big fan of the Midwest work ethic and independent spirit. They book their own shows, engineer and release their own records, silkscreen their own shirts, load their own gear, drive their own van and - grudgingly - write their own promotional spew.
Since 2002, they’ve managed to rack up three EPs, two LPs, two compilation tracks, three trans-Midwest tours and a nice swath of damaged hearing and confused stares. Their new record - Blood of Patriots - was released in April 2007, a joint venture of Pride of Dakota Records and Beep Repaired Inc.
If you are interested in receiving promotional items from The Bismarck, well, you’d be the first.
The Bismarck should not be confused with The Bismarck with whom we have a long-standing no-compete agreement.
Man, your playing with sindios. I am old school friends with some of those guys. Havn't seen them in ages. Sucks that I am going to be Eugene that weekend. Have a good show.
Thanks so much for having us. I wish I could've stayed, but I had a busy day. Playing in a gazebo on a day with no clouds makes me happy. We have to set something up again.
Ditto with what the KSA guys said; thank you guys so much for stopping in GF. We wish we could've offered you a better crowd, but the time and the weather whammied us a bit. Still, you guys put on a fantastic show, and we're glad to read that you (eventually) got to the cities all right. Thanks again, and good luck with the rest of the tour!
THANKS for kicking our asses twice within 24 hrs. So cool. The new songs are great and we both cant wait to get our hands on a copy.
I will have some pics/video sent your way shortly after finals here, aka next week.
ALSO, Eric if you are down for that CD/"savage street" swap, send me your address and we'll make it happen! WAHOO!
Chris, the withering stares live CD is great. I was just expected the tracks from the EP live but got a whole new batch of tracks, very nice surprise, sounds great. Tour damn it.
Hey loser, you're going to be in town on the 26th and you're not even going to give me a heads up! Jerk. Good thing Meg and I have an open communication so I knew you were going to be in the area. It's over. we're done.
Thanks for the add, guys! It's not completely random... I've taken a couple of classes from Dave Marshall @ UND, and your gig was mentioned while I was there. Thanks again! - Amanda from Popplers
