Being in a band should be all about the music. We don't care about what scene we are in, we don't dress in a certain way, we don't play in a certain style, we don't perform to feed an ego or be the centre of attention and we don't need a flashy profile to distract you from the reason you are here... the music. We are in a band to play the most innovative, exciting, energetic and unforgettable music we can. We write, produce and record all of our own material, promote our own gigs and so far manage ourselves. Everything we have achieved so far we have achieved on our own through hard work and dedication.

The Bitter Image sound has been described as a bittersweet mix of post-grunge and melodic rock. Drawing on such diverse influences as rock, metal, blues, electronica, classical, jazz, dance and motown, The Bitter Image deliver powerful yet precise experience through their work both in the studio and on stage. The sound is so diverse we even get likened to bands we hadn't even heard of before.

The band members have over 7 years of gigging experience and have had success supporting the likes of The Glitterati, The Rushes, The Raveonettes, Antiproduct and Warner E. Hodges (Ex Iggy Pop guitarist). This year promises to be the most eventful yet, starting with the launch of a brand new EP and talks with new management and labels. Stay tuned for more news as it happens.

Be sure to catch The Bitter Image as soon as possible as these intimate venue gigs will not last for long....

Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers, Ex Iggy Pop):

That was amazing!... that guy [Jonny] is incredible!

Matt Seymour (BBC Radio York, More Raw 05/10/07):

They've even re-recorded Beautiful Disaster which is even bigger than before if such a thing is possible....

Review from Talk Magazine June 2007:

Next up to take the stage is York's answer to Queens Of The Stone Age - The Bitter Image, who were also on top-form this evening, opening the set with one of their most hectic of songs "Beautiful Disaster". With the crowd already looking like a sea of sweaty hair, The Bitter Image denied us a sit down and kept us moshin'. This lively cavalry know how to create a frenzy on stage.
The Bitter Image have experience behind them, this shows through in their gigs and proves their versatility and stability as a rock band - I know this is a quality every rock band desires, but only some bands have it - The Bitter Image have it.

Hi

You are invited to Katie & the Questions first gig at the Junction Leeman Road, York on the 9th July. Only £4 on the door.

Katie & The Questions were formed out the prefabs of North Yorkshire in June 2008, when Katie met guitar playing keyboardist ‘E’ after he advertised for someone to play ‘shove halfpenny’ with. They clicked over their love of guitar based music and decided to form a band.

Katie and the band play a pulsating brand of powerpop, new wave punkpop check them out at their myspace site
