What initially started in Xstoph's (pronounced Christoph) hometown of Los Angeles, California, the band moved to Seattle, Washington just six months after their beginning in 1991.
Over the next four years, the band played religiously to west coast fans, sometimes having as many as five gigs in a single week. It was during this time period they released approximately ten E.P.'s on vinyl and cassette tapes.

In 1995 they compiled their crowd avorite's and released their first full-length album, Redeem.
Wade Alin of Christ Analog teamed up with the band in 1997 and began recording their next elease, Enrapture.
They toured the U.S.A for the next two years promoting their new release. The band's lineup had changed, but Black Atmosphere's driving force Xstoph carried on the success on tour in Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, England, Scotland and throughout the United States.
Viral Transformations released under the label "Global Inception Productions" in 2000, which remains in distribution today, along with the highly anticipated Descending Faith.
