BLACK CHAMELEON is a One-Man-Studio project in progressive Rock music, based in the Rhine Area Neuss. Born in the 60s, growing up with the music of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Genesis, The Doors, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles and many more. Even in the early days, I’ve been fascinated by the Drummers. After visiting a Concert in 1983, the first Band (“Justness”) was formed. In 1986, we had our first rehearsal room and could start working. At first, the Band was only a guitarist and me on Drums. In 1987, the Band was completed with Bass and Vocals. I had the pleasure never returning to compose with a highly talented guitarist. The songs were hard to find a genre for, but easy unique. We didn’t play music – we celebrated music. A mix of Black Sabbath, ACDC, Status Quo and the Sex Pistols. The German music magazine “Escape” wrote in 1987 :”The music is beyond all known clichés.” These words got burned into my soul… Because of personal differences, “Justness” broke up after their one and only public Gig at the Hennekamp in Dusseldorf in February 1988. Some people can live without music – I cannot. But it lasted until 2005 to understand this wisdom. 4 slipping disks in my spine showed me the way back to my roots. On the keyboard at first, later as the drummer of a Dusseldorf based Cover band. Which I left with a growing level of creativity in autumn 2007. With a rising interest, I started to work on the endless possibilities of modern Keyboards and “virtual instruments”. The result is BLACK CHAMELEON, and the first CD “An Island In The Desert”. The CD got released on August 1st, 2009 on “Rockwerk Records” and is available by mail order via the Bands website. I am composing, playing, recording and mixing all of the instruments ( without loops or rhythm machines ) as an autodidact. With no commercial view on any Charts or surfing on a short-timed and passing-by wave. With November 2009, all of the new songs presented exclusively here on MySpace, will be available worldwide on iTunes within 6 – 8 weeks after their first presentation. So, check out the BLACK CHAMELEON iTunes account regularly. Honest and timeless progressive Rock music, without a net but alive and kicking. Deep minded atmosphere included.

BLACK CHAMELEON ist ein 1-Mann-Studioprojekt progressiver Rockmusik, beheimatet im Rhein Kreis Neuss. Geboren in den 60ern, aufgewachsen mit der Musik von Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Genesis, The Doors, Rolling Stones, The Who, den Beatles und vielen anderen. Schon in frühen Jahren waren es die Drummer die mich faszinierten. 1983 wurde nach einem Konzertbesuch die erste Band („Justness“) gegründet, 1986 konnten wir endlich unseren Proberaum beziehen und anfangen. Die Band bestand zu Beginn nur aus Gitarre und Schlagzeug. Letzteres war mein Part. 1987 war die Band mit Bass und Gesang komplett. Ich hatte das nie wiederkehrende Vergnügen, gemeinsam mit einem begnadet talentierten Gitarristen Songs zu komponieren, die nur schwer einzuordnen aber dafür einfach originell waren. Wir spielten nicht Musik, wir zelebrierten sie. Eine Mischung aus Black Sabbath, ACDC, Status Quo und den Sex Pistols. Das Musikmagazin „Escape“ schrieb 1987 über uns : „Die Musik liegt jenseits jeglicher Klischees.“ Dieser Satz hat sich in meine Seele eingebrannt… Wegen persönlicher Differenzen lösten sich „Justness“ nach ihrem einzigen öffentlichen Konzert am Düsseldorfer Hennekamp im Februar 1988 auf. Einige können ohne Musik leben – ich kann es nicht. Allerdings dauerte es bis 2005 um zu dieser Einsicht zu kommen. 4 Bandscheibenvorfälle wiesen mir den Weg zurück zu meinen Wurzeln. Zuerst am Keyboard, dann nebenbei als Drummer in einer Düsseldorfer Coverband. Doch mit steigendem Kreativitätspegel verließ ich die Truppe im Herbst 2007. Ich begann mich ernsthafter und intensiver mit den unendlichen Möglichkeiten moderner Keyboards und „virtuellen Instrumenten“ zu befassen. Das Ergebnis ist BLACK CHAMELEON und die erste CD „An Island In The Desert“, erschienen am 01.08.2009 auf Rockwerk Records und über die Bandhomepage bestellbar. Ich komponiere, spiele alle Instrumente ein (übrigens ohne jegliche Loops oder Rhythmusmaschinen…) und produziere alles autodidaktisch nach meinen Vorstellungen. Keine kommerzielle Chartorientierung oder surfen auf einer kurzweiligen Modewelle. Ab November 2009 werden alle neuen Songs etwa 6 – 8 Wochen nach ihrer Veröffentlichung auf Myspace weltweit auf iTunes erhältlich sein. Ehrliche und zeitlose, progressive Rockmusik ohne Haken und Ösen die lebendig und spürbar ist. Atmosphäre und Tiefgründigkeit inklusive.
