Bio
In a world overtaken by hoax-Harlem hussy hip hop and pretty-boy prissy pop quiffs, THE BLACK DAHLIAS were sent to set the rock n’ roll record straight. And set it the hell straight they have, with raunchy hooks and sassy back-alley swagger. The boys are a virtual ‘Cro-Magnon Band’, connecting the evolutionary dots between the likes of The Cult, L.A Guns, The Hives and Eagles of Death Metal. A combination which has proved fatal in the hands of lesser men, but the perfect witches brew in the grasp of The Black Dahlias. The Dahlias’ first calling card came in the form of 2009’s ‘Do You Wanna’, a tune that became the smash hit of the summer, garnering play on TV and radio stations across the country, including The Rock FM, the country’s flagship of Rock n’ Roll. To truly experience The Black Dahlias is to see them live – unlike many of the sweater-toting shoe-gazers out there, the Dahlias believe that every live show should be a sweat-soaked revelation; they deliver your rock ‘n’ roll shaken, stirred, gritty and fierce like the glory days. Whether it be rocking a full house at the Australasian Emergenza finals at Billboards in Melbourne, or gatecrashing this year’s Boy’s Day Out, The Dahlias will bring down any house they can find. With their eponymous debut E.P about to hit the shelves, The Black Dahlias are poised with a collection of tunes that combine the dirge of garage rock with catchy hooks, backed by an explosive live show. No stop signs, speed limits. Ladies and Gentlemen, you had better get onboard. The Black Dahlias supporting AIRBOURNE on their NO GUTS, NO GLORY NZ TOUR; Sep 30 - The Powerstation, Auckland Oct 01 - Bar Bodega, Wellington Oct 02 - The Bedford, Christchurch -

10 of 28MoreWhat's goin' on The Black Dahlias? Your beauty is equal to the smoothness of a polished gem. Entranced by the sweet harmony of your lips, I gaze beyond reason to find the oasis of your brilliant soul. If I could have just one wish, it would be to wake up to your songs in the morning. Blinking reveals the true visage of beauty hidden within your eyes. Your eyes show as many deep and full shades of fire as a volcano in heat. A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. I keep searching for you between the cushions. Your sweet voice is like the application of aloe vera upon a sunburnt back. The skin I shed is a perfume that makes water bubbles so terribly clear to me. Your beauty is multiplexed in contemplation of your multidimensional effervescence. You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot.
