Thanks a lot for the photo comment. Unfortunately I couldn't get closer because of the police but it gives it a slightly different angle to the hundreds of other photos that are circulating.

Where are you going to find a Geordie poet, a literature activist, ‘a glass two thirds empty’, a stolen gem, a doyle, a manic depressive ex-anorexic, a good egg, a rose, a biscuit winner, a lunatic and a Grangetown golden nugget? Answer: The Black Light Engine Room.

Issue one of this ‘irregularly published fanzine’ makes way for prose, poetry, reviews, random rants and articles, not to mention the odd but original and fantastic piece of art work. Stupendous poems by the likes of Micheal Edwards, Bob Beagrie and Jo Colley feature in this issue, along with an in depth, personalised review by creator and Editor himself, P.A. Morbid on the novella Watermelon Sugar.

Yes this is a random new release but it is worth grabbing hold of and reading before the wind flicks it away and into someone else’s hands. You will undoubtedly discover something you didn’t know before, such as foods to eat before a tattoo (in my own bizarre feature) and what the heck Watermelon Sugar is and why having a poet on your shoulder can drive you to almost to insanity...

So, add the MySpace page for this super duper little literary zine, get yourself a copy and inspire yourself to submit. Go on, you have five seconds to shift...
