Yes, it's true. Blackout 101 is now a four piece. Changes began in February, 2009, when George Brooks parted ways with Blackout 101 on good terms, due to his involvement in photography and getting ready to go to college. We then began to look for a drummer that could fill in George's shoes and didn't have any luck for quite some time. George agreed to fill in for a couple of previously booked shows as a favor to the band. He is now studying photography at NYU and we wish him the best of luck.

In May, 2009, Chris and Skyler began having many serious talks about what the next step was for the band. The idea of getting a second guitar player was getting thrown around as a serious consideration. We then decided that, since Skyler is in fact a guitar player, and not a bassist, he would be the best man for the job.
Next.
Next came the task of figuring out who would be playing bass. We looked around for a while and realized the answer was right in front of us: Gavin Bennett, who Skyler and Chris have known since junior high. Gavin had been playing bass for a few years and we realized what needed to be done.
Next.
Chris met Miles Kottak through another band, and the two got along well from the start. After a few weeks of hanging out and talking to one another, Chris, Skyler, Gavin, and Miles got together for their first rehearsal together on June 29th, 2009, and have been practicing everyday since.
Next.
Chris has been writing songs for a debut album, and the band will be playing a few new songs at every show. The first one being at the Knitting Factory on July 24. It is going to be a whole new experience for everyone, and it is definitely for the better. See you soon.
Chatroom Rules
1. Don't impersonate Blackout 101. The real Chris, Sky, Gavin, and Miles will only be in the chatroom if confirmed in a bulletin! Don't believe impostors! Although, occasionally, one of us will pop our heads in without a bulletin, knowing no one will actually believe it's us... we do it for laughs.
2. You can talk about anything you want, but keep it clean and be nice! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so please be nice to each other and don't fight, call people names, or otherwise be immature. If you don't like someone, this ISN'T the place to tell them about it.
3. If someone is being mean, be sure to click their name and press the warn button. If they are warned enough, they will be banned from the chat!
