Black Rabbit have just played host to their second birthday and already they have earned notoriety on London's thriving underground club scene.
Formed in October 2006 by Kelly Love, Chris Bones, Justin Robertson and Guy Williams, Black Rabbit owes it's success to a combination of the strong promotional team their highly renowned resident DJs playing an uplifting mish-mash of musical styles, and their loyal fans. Their parties have been ROCKING across the globe for the past 2 years and it looks like things are set to continue!
They hosted their first party at ‘The Red Lion’ in West London…A slightly shabby pub with a very late license, which only served to increase it's appeal to the Black Rabbit crowd and crew because as they will tell you...It’s ALL about the music!
A novel line up with a refreshing sound, anything goes when these resident DJs play together! Going back to the roots of where clubbing began, then above and beyond!
January 2007 saw Black Rabbit hosting club night Bugged Out! @ The End a fine collaboration resulting in residency with BuggedOut! Hosting the AKA bar until the closure of The End club in January 09.
They have been host for club night Together @ Turnmills with a residency for the first part of 2007, into the summer seeing the rabbits visiting Dave Beer’s night Back2Basics-Leeds, they hosted their first party on the Balearic island of Ibiza for Jade Jagger's glamorous night Jezebels in the Global room @ ‘Pacha’ followed by their Black Rabbit party at San Antonio’s finest club ‘Eden’ along side Electric Sex and Dusted. They rocked their room in The Cross at TDK festival-London and went on a tour of Ireland.
Into summer 2008 and Black Rabbit headed to Thailand; commenced a Saturday residency at East Village, (Shoreditch's newest venue); were asked to partner Snowbombing (the hugely popular music & snowboarding festival in Mayerhofen), this seeing the crew hit the slopes of Austria, taking their inimitable party vibe to the snow and rocking Arena club to it's core. They have just ended a monthly residency in the Love Box at Eden -Ibiza alongside Spanish night Loco Mondo, been part of the first ever Beachboming festival in Ibiza’s old converted zoo and thrown a legendary boat party! Continued their residency with infamous club night Buggedout, thrown some amazing and legendary Notting Hill Carnival parties, got themselves a residency at Audio club in Brighton, have hosted London’s newest venue matter and about to head to the Ministry Of Sound to host the bar. It’s fair to say these guys have been working their socks off and have quite rightly earned themselves a place on London’s prestigious club circuit!
As Black Rabbit continues to astound it's crowd with unbeatable line ups, including Nathan Detroit (Southern Fried), Ed Chemical (Chemical Brothers), Matthew Bushwacka, Serge Santiago (Arcobaleno), Jon Carter, Lottie, Ewan Pierson, Riton, Tom Neville, Tom Middleton, FC Kahuna, Mutiny, Shane Watcha, Deepgroove, Caged Baby, Clive Henry, Andy Weatherall, King Roc, The Cuban Bothers, Filthy Dukes, Barry Ashworth, Smoking Jo, Paul Woolford and Riva Star…they aspire to look forward to 2009 and all the ensuing excitement as they embark on a second club partnership with Snowbombing at the end of March; will be heading back to Ireland to host club night Yello and will continue their residency @ Audio in Brighton.
Guy, Justin and Bones are currently in the studio working on the first Black Rabbit record to be released on Tom Nevill's label Love Minus Zero later in the summer.
No doubt already planning their next moves in Ibiza… Watch this space for further news, It's about to kick off!!!
