The Black Water Blues Band is a high energy blues band based in the Central California area. Playing original and classic cover blues tunes.
The founding members are James Rodriguez and his nephew Leonard Rodriguez. They began their mutual musical appreciation for blues some 25 years ago.
Their family’s history of entertaining through music and singing was handed down from the generation prior. Playing at parties and family functions enabled the two to progress and enhance their live performance.
James on the lead vocals, and harmonica reminiscent of Paul Butterfield and Charlie Musselwhite. James keeps the energy level up with a very soulful and danceable groove.
Leonard is an amazing rhythm and lead guitar player. Pleasing the crowd with licks and riffs comparable to the masters. To quote Leonard, “Being an original American art form, blues music has transcended with time and still remains pure of heart and soul. It has to come from within”. This is evident in the bands performance.
In the latter part of 2006’ James and Leonard wanted to obtain a rhythm section that would take the band to the next level. They found that in Frank Alsing on drums and Eric Ferguson on bass.
Frank is originally from the bay area and has been playing clubs and concerts since 1972.
Eric owns his own recording studio; Under Main Studios, in Visalia, CA. He provides strong, driving grooves and specializes in funk.
The Black Water Blues Band is available to play blues festivals, corporate gigs, clubs and private parties. To hear song samples and view a slide show from some of their shows, go to myspace.com/theblackwaterbluesband.

I just went through all the photos from Farmer's Market! Those are some awesome pics! I wish I could have been there. I guess that's what happens when you're a Rodriguez, when your in a band and when you have that music coursing through your veins telling you "You need to practice with your band Zack!". :) Sorry I missed it. :(
