Mike "Mikey" Ried - Drum Kit, Tambourine, Piano, Backing Vocals
Influences
"It's garage-band rock, wedded to the uncompromising proto-punk ethic of Iggy Pop or the Ramones. Like all post-modern rock zealots, the Blanks seek the music's Holy Grail: its spontaneous, rude energy - and if they're not much interested in guitar virtuosity or tuneful singing, so much the better. The genre is more than a departure from preening, artsy rock, it's a reaction against it." - Chris Rietz, Lansing State Journal
Sounds Like
"Fuzzy ‘60s rock charm with flirtatious nods to the early commingling of country and rhythm ‘n’ blues that birthed rock in the first place." - Whitney Spotts, City Pulse
"Up-tempo, playful, honky-tonk-flavored rock 'n' roll. These guys are noisy garage-rockers, but what comes through most is the group's sincere attitude." - Anne Erickson, What's On
The Blanks are currently the greatest rockity roll band in the world, certainly in their own home, and most definitely in their own mind. With raw delight they play music for themselves, letting those fortunate to hear, thank them with a turned back or cold stare. They play sloppy and they care too much. It's pure and true and if you don't like it, The Blanks feel sorry for you and wish you a good day and good luck. You'll need it.

Oh yes..ap english is good. i liked death of a salesman and glass menagerie about equally i thought they were both very good. i also read the sound and the fury and i like john keats' poetry. everything's good. to sum it up ...msu is a 'probably' for next year but I'm bad at making final decisions....and at least I don't have to mow the lawn!
