January 27, 2009 - YES, WE CAN! A week, and the chants, the cheers, and tears have subsided, but the work has begun. Change has come and hope has sprung eternal. Hope for a bright future. Hope for a new day and a bright and brave new world. Change--not just change for our President Barack Obama or for a new congress, but change for everyone. Change for senior citizens who thought they "would never see the day." Change for "boomers" who may have believed Dr. King's dream for the future, but have done little in the past to create change. Change for those 30 and under who see the world "through their eyes" with different perspective. Change for toddlers; infants;babies; and newborns who will never be able to say "will I live to see a president of color for the United States of America?" So we ask, "what will you do to ultimately bring positive change?" Positive change in your home. Positive change in your community. Positive change in your city or town.
