   About The Blind Chitlin Kahunas

We've been hard at work in the studio lately, friends ... and the tracks are sounding HOT, if we do say so ourselves! Only a couple more to go, and our new CD will be ready to erupt!

Give a listen to "Gonna Need A Doctor" while you're here! This particular track features the tasty piano playing of our great friend Webb Kline.

Hope to see you at a show soon. ALOHA!

The Blind Chitlin Kahunas is a blues band, born with a lust for the groove and a thirst for the funk ... and they deliver the blues like an erupting volcano. Accept no imitations. Only the real Kahunas will do! The Blind Chitlin Kahunas is a powerhouse band comprised of talented veteran musicians (and longtime friends, finally united), with a sound not unlike Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray or Robben Ford ... but with a fire all their own. Searing guitar, down & dirty funky grooves, three great voices and a whole lotta love for the blues & good times makes the Blind Chitlin Kahunas just what they are. Some bad-ass blues boys!

Chris Bovard (Guitars & Vocals) - The Big Kahuna himself, Chris found his interest in the guitar about the same time he learned to walk. He started with an acoustic guitar, and his father told him he would buy him an electric guitar when he learned to play Classical Gas. He listened & listened, practiced until he got it right and then played it for his dad ... and he got that guitar. Chris was soon playing in various school and garage bands. In no time at all, he became well-versed in many musical styles ranging from Hawaiian, country, rock, blues and jazz to everything in between. In the 80’s, he was guitarist for the house band Sonya and the Revolucion at the Wave Waikiki Club in Hawaii, which was then one of the top 50 clubs worldwide. Chris has appeared on stage with the likes of Kenny Loggins, Lee Oskar & War, Lita Ford, Buddy Miles and many more ... and he was even on TV's Magnum P.I.! Chris has a special gift when it comes to the blues ... he's right in your face, and plays with true heart, soul and passion. Chances are that he'll give you goosebumps. By day, you can find Chris helping his fellow musicians get all the right gear at Robert M. Sides Music. Buy him a shot of Crown Royal at a gig, and he'll be your friend for life ;)

Kim "Kimbo" Reichley (Bass & Vocals) - Kimbo benefits from more than 30 years in the music business as a bassist, vocalist, songwriter and engineer. He also plays acoustic & electric guitar, mandolin and keyboards ... and is well-known for his penchant for cool scattin'. He performed in many rock bands throughout the 70's & 80's, including (most noteably) The David Rose Band, from 1985 to 1994. After that, he found his way to the kickin' 12-piece R&B band Daddy-O & the Sax Maniax. But now, he's here. Kimbo’s unique and versatile singing, combined with his rock-solid, creative and downright funky bass playing, makes him the perfect counterpart to Chris. Kimbo also owns and operates his own recording studio, Kimbo's Music Studio, in Lewisburg, PA.

Joel B Vincent (Drums & Vocals) - Joel has been drumming for nearly thirty years both on stage and in the studio. He has performed with the likes of the legendary Bo Diddley, Davy Jones, Joan Osborne and Tino Gonzales, and has worked behind the scenes as a drum tech and/or stagehand for dozens of artists, including Levon Helm, The Pretenders, Joan Jett and many more. A fluid, funky drummer, Joel's experience, talent, ear for harmony and precision in the pocket make him a perfect addition to the Kahunas. He's also the creator & webmaster of BilltownLive.com, the Williamsport area's coolest, most popular website about what's going on, the area's musical artists and more.

The Blind Chitlin Kahunas occasionally feature good friend & keyboardist Webb Kline, a real mutha on the B3. Plus, you never know who might join the Kahunas at a live show to add some extra fire, such as good friends & fabulous harmonica players Charlie Moore or Andy "Badmouth" Barnhardt. Every Blind Chitlin Kahunas show is hot, fresh and funky ... and there's always the distinct possibility that you'll get lei'd by the band!! Come to a show and find out what we mean by that (wink, wink).
