| About The Bloodening(R.I.P.) |
Massachusetts seems to be a haven for metal bands and The Bloodening helps to prove why. Born in the summer of '04, this MA-based band expertly blends elements from many musical styles into a perfect combination of melody and brutality. Dual guitar harmonies, sweeping arpeggios and intricate solos shred through every track of their debut album, Convergence of the Three Suns. Combined with mechanical drumming and a wide variety of keyboards/synths, The Bloodening makes sure this is a CD that will not be soon forgotten. Phil's vocals embody every heart-felt lyric, ranging from guttural lows to ear-piercing highs, whispers and spoken word. Relatable themes of love and loss, anger, depression and pain are prominent throughout his story-like lyrics. The listener is immediately able to feel emotion and mood of every song. The Bloodening's creativity and musicianship becomes apparent on tracks like Regret the Day, In These Eyes, and their title track Convergence of the Three Suns. With a new, solid line up, their musicianship and popularity will only continue to grow.
