“Anyone in need of a heart-thumping, fist-pumping anthem should check out The Blood Lines…” “…dense group vocals occasionally wrapping the thunder in velvet.” -See Magazine (Edmonton, AB)
“Kicking off with the gripping 'Song Salvation' and 'On My Way Back Home,' The Blood Lines dig in deep with riffs seemingly inspired by Deep Purple-via-Jesus And Mary Chain (Maygen Kardash's distorted organ is rad). Clearly, these sibling-heavy Saska-dwellers have also dug into the Dandy Warhols' bag a little, while the unison vocals on 'Not Enough' hark back to My Bloody Valentine. Prog epics like 'Orcana' and 'Off My Mind' are standouts, featuring some luscious vocal harmonies..." "...it all adds up to a top-drawer debut from these Toon Towners.” -Eye Weekly (Toronto, ON)
“Electronic components add dimensionality to stripped-down, balls-out super sound.” -College Music Journal (New York, NY)
“They certainly have the sound down pat, mixed with a refreshing dose of female lyrics and Kings of Leon-esque drawl.” -Spill Magazine (Toronto, ON)
In 2006, two families merged and The Blood Lines were born. Brothers, Paul and Barrett Ross and siblings Maygen and S.J. Kardash soon conceived a recording and a Canadian tour, penetrating the US to play the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon.
"Move over Arcade Fire and Stars and all you trendy Arts+Crafts bands. From Saskatoon in Saskatchewan come the future of alterno-pop-rock on their self-titled debut. One of the very few good things to come out of CMJ this year."
-Harris Radio (New York, NY)
In November 2006, The Dears invited The Blood Lines to support their western Canadian tour. Since then, the band has toured as far as China, where they played the Beijing Pop Festival with acts like, Nine Inch Nails, Mando Diao and Public Enemy.
A marriage of 70’s inspired riffs and modern ideas filled The Blood Lines’ first album. Recorded on analog reel to reel in S.J. Kardash’s home studio, the record charted as high as 1 on some college stations, being named “most-played” on XM station, The Verge, and going on to win “Outstanding Rock Recording” at the 2007 Western Canadian Music Awards.
Currently, the band is working on a new album to be released in 2008.

WE ARE CELEBRATING HANK WILLIAMS SR's 85th BIRTHDAY by releasing the 1st quarter of our only-available-thru-myspace-album 'FOLK YOU'. it's FREE! just go to our page & download or upload or whatever the kids are doing these days.
we'll leave these tracks out there for a couple weeks or so, then put out the next quarter of the album. upon the release of the 4th 1/4, we will post the cover art for y'all.
all our tracks were done on the first take just like the good ol days when these songs were first being recorded back in the '20s & '30s, of course we've added our own flavor to these folk-traditionals & added a few electric instruments here & there.
anywho, hope y'all enjoy & spread the love of the 2timin' bastards. HAPPY HANK DAY

hey blood lines just stopping by to say hows everybody summer going mine is good so hope your touring safe around the world love ya all Renee Dawn Moore :)
:-D Hey SJ - yeah we just put up this page last night. Sent Paul an email about it today just to give you guys kudos. We ran into some band complications and legal trouble with two of the members in our band and had to choose a new name to continue making music. After thinking of countless blah names - Mike had suggested Modern Science after I suggested Rocket Science....Obviously we know you guys have a song called that so I just thought I'd shoot you a friendly email telling you that we completely give you credit with inspiring us with our new name. Hopefully you don't take offense to this as we really think highly of you guys and your music.
Hopefully this doesn't stop us from being friends and if anything only increases how many people hear your song through searching for our band. It's an indie rock classic as far as I'm concerned.

Well I made it to the prairie arts festival to see you guys and I must say you were great. I just got in from Vegas a few hours before you went on stage and now it's 1:30 am and I am getting ready to go to Laredo, Texas. What timing eh? Anyway, great show and hope to see you again soon.
