The Blue Effect is the new sound of piano based pop rock. Drawing on 60's influence pop rock with a saxophone thrown into the mix, the Blue Effect has a sound which is truly independent from the majority of recording artists today. Performing local and regional shows for the past three years, the band has created a loyal fan base, which grows at every show. Formed in 2007, the band has created a full length album available on iTunes, released under Diversion Productions in Southfield. The band has been a featured artist on Break Thru Radio (highlighting top college bands), and "Mother Mary" was the song of the month in April for a Singer/Songwriter online showcase.
This summer, the band has played high profile shows throughout Michigan such as the Crofoot Ballroom and Pike Room, the Blind Pig, the Modern Exchange, and St. Andrews Hall. July has seen the band touring the Midwest, with shows in the heart of Chicago and Indianapolis. As the fall season begins, the Blue Effect has already had major success playing at the Breslin Center at Michigan State University in front of over 1,000 people during welcome week activities. The band was also contacted to play at Arts, Beats and Eats, a major music festival in Downtown Pontiac. The band performed on the Comcast stage and was sponsored by Sight and Sound.

the Blue Effect is a piano based pop rock group made up of five guys from Detroit, MI.
Our past gigs include the Fox 2 News Morning Show, a one hour live broadcast on 98.7 FM from the Jazz Cafe in the Music Hall in Detroit, and multiple appearances at Campus Martius Park, an outdoor summer music festival, located in the heart of downtown Detroit. We have also played at several coffee houses and poetry jams.
Other performances include a one hour live show on the Mitch Albom Radio Show, a national broadcast, black-tie fundraisers for a private high school and for Oakland Hills Country Club, and numerous private parties. In addition, our music has aired on the Northern California based KZSU 90.1 FM radio station in Stanford. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming indie film "Myth of the American Sleepover," which features our songs.
We have two tours coming up the summer of 2009. From July 2-17 we'll be touring the Midwest. Then late July to the beginning of August, we're going to be hitting the East Coast.
