..The Blue Ruins Promote Your Page Too..
The Blue Ruins consists of Allan and Kate watts and they are an up and coming father/daughter Blues and Roots duo from the South Coast. Allan and Kate have been playing together for three years and have been making their mark in New South Wales by playing in many different venues and events.
The Duo has been invited to such events as the Candelo Village Festival, Cancer foundation fundraisers, Youth Week, and has been featured on the ARCH (Anti Racism and Community Harmony) Album with their song ‘War on Human Kind’.
Kate is a young and determined young lady who has many years of vocal training under her belt. She has been described to have one of the biggest voices this country is yet to hear with a style like no other when she occasionally picks up the guitar which she plays upside down. Kate also prides herself on her ability to play rhythmic Djembe, powerful stomp box and anything else that may help to enhance the duo’s gutsy sound.
Allan is a well seasoned, self taught, lyrical blues guitarist with his own style. He had been playing guitar in many different bands for 35 years before settling with The Blue Ruins and has such a strong passion not only for his instrument but also for blues and roots music. His style, passion and feel make him an admirable musician.
With many set backs from previous producers and financial barriers, they settled on doing home recording. They have now completed recording their album ‘Wasted’, and they are looking to distribute it throughout Australia.
Father, Allan and Daughter, Kate, work extremely well together and have a presence on stage that is indescribably unique. Although they’re not the finished article yet, The Blue Ruins are definitely a duo to keep your eye on.

Hey guys, sorry, just saw your comment about what time the JJ finishes. I know it's not relevant now but it depends on the turn out as to how long we go on for. We've been known to go on till closing time on a good night, and others have fizzled out around 7 to 8ish. Last weekend was unusually quiet so we decided to make it unplugged. It was cozy and intimate.... as opposed to rowdy and full on!
Heya, yeah thanks, sunday was awesome, was great to hear you guys! Awesome sound, Yeah will let you know when we've got some shows coming, i think in about a month we're doing something at the front, also planning to go down the south coast over summer, so maybe we could organise a gig sometime then, that would be sweet!
