The Blues & the Royals are on an indefinite hiatus. Sorry to let anyone down who's been let down. On top of matters, we are currently looking for a skilled, steady drummer. If interested, please contact us via myspace, or by emailing @ thebluesandtheroyals@gmail.com
A band of three young adult men; Hibbard, Jankiewicz, and Williams had long desired for a chance to be a nominal success, pedestrian at best like any band of young adult men from Denton, Texas. After achieving great success in fulfilling their mediocre dreams the band decided to put to rest their frivolous ambitions and pursue a career in acting. Their first big role was to play the part of an Indie band of ruffians named 'The Blues & the Royals.' This band they were to play was to be modeled after such bands as the The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Strokes, and Weezer. But the young actors took their acting careers far too seriously and began to literally live out their roles as a band, making up various “facts” of the band; like their creation in January of 2008, and playing at the Dallas International Guitar Festival later that year. The band eventually put their money where their mouths were and delved deep into their pockets to research how a real band would react to recording in a studio by booking studio time at The Track Studio in December of 2008.
After recording a three song EP in as many days and fictitiously breaking up one and a half times, the songs which were created to mimic the band's imagined nature began to take a life of their own and sadly forced themselves on the band of four young men, and never being ones to say “no” they could only accept the songs as their own creations. The band of young adult men wanted The Blues & the Royals' to be removed from the hordes of synthetic and duplicate musicians by retaining the raw and authentic individuality that they already possessed. In doing so, The Blues & the Royals became just like every Indie band except that they really were different. For unneeded practices, the actors were forced to practice on UNT's old soccer field; sharing their precious practice time with the Lacrosse team and flag football squads who enjoyed listening to the band play cover songs to ensure their stay. For performances, the two songwriters would alternate on bass and guitar, ushering in a unique style for every song and staying true to the needs of the song and not necessarily the needs of the band. The amateur actors playing the parts of the band are: Matt “Burns” Hibbard, Logan “Hyde” Jankiewicz, and Damien “666” Williams.
Matt plays the part of the bored lead singer, and classically trained pianist who forsook the piano in favor of the rhythm guitar and bass.
Logan acts as the lead guitarist who dabbles in the art of slide work.
Damien attempts to pose as a rhythm guitarist, bassist, and mildly talented composer.

LOL this is crazy! And it only works if you have Internet Explorer (I think). You have to go to www . retwistic . com (no spaces) and then after it loads you need to hit the back button or else the funny video won't come up. If that doesn't work then hit the forward button instead.
