Based in Port Talbot, THE BLUES CRUISE formed from the remnants of the Baglan Social Club resident jam band NO KARAOKE. Long term friends and musical interlopers Rob Davies and Dean Williams, along with drummer Alun Thomas transformed the bands sound from rock to a blues genre. The band perform regular at the ALL NEW BLUES JAM at the New York in Swansea.
................................................................................................................
Harp player Steve Grey was swiftly added and guest guitarist Colin (the rocking rabbi) Goldring regularly attended the jam sessions and early gigs. Colin has other commitments touring regular with his highly acclaimed punk band THE PORK DUKES

The first BLUES CRUISE recordings are now available, albeit not all members were available at the sessions and thier parts will be overdubbed. The tracks were recorded in Rob's front room on a 12 track portastudio and show a few flaws due to inexperience in the home recording market. (Any comments would be gratefully recieved, good or bad, it can only improve the sound) There are original numbers in the pipeline as well as hopefully adding a keyboard player to the line up, perhaps there is a brass section out there that would like to experience the cruise (wouldn't we all wish for one of them).
The band's sound benefits from Colin's availability who acts performs in tandem to Rob's rugged guitar riffs. Dean and Alun provide a solid tight backbone albeit no regular rehearsals, the band are noted for their get up and play attitude. The experinced steve provides a perfect foil for the two guitarists with his improvisation and intermediate harp solo's.
.............................................................................................................
THE BLUES CRUISE set comprises of old blues classics like Smokestack Lightnin, Mojo, Hoochie Coochie Man, Nine Below Zero, Crossroads to soul classics like Mustang Sally, Hard to Handle, Midnight Hour and varying accoustic style numbers of the HOT TUNA genre like Hesitation Blues, I Know You Rider and Death Dont Have No Mercy.

The first album of blues covers, 'CRUISIN THE BLUES' will be available from our fan page, www.myspace.com/bluescruisefans.
The new recordings of The Blues Cruise will feature new guitarist/bassist Dick Strawbridge who has already started gigging with the band. Its an exciting new project whereas the new blood can twin lead comfortable with Rob and enable Rob to play keyboards and vary the sound. Dicks flexibility allows Dean to air his beloved accoustic to the odd number. Another new member who is a regular guest at their gigs when available is saxophonist Ken Blunt.
Progress is being made on the new album 'Ow's it Bluesin' and should be available soon.

We have put a new song up for you, it’s only a rough demo which hasn’t really been mixed well and hasn’t been produced but it will give you a taster of what may come next in our next recording sessions which we are trying to set before Christmas.
Enjoy! It’s called 'Stop'. Please tell us what you think.
washed her with water, her – whipped by the wind.... At dawn, she woke, the sun dried her. Her skin had changed, rotten old crap. Oh, poor, poor old Mama, you lonely one. Who created you from iron and gave you such a rotten destiny?
