"One Minute Wanda" is the latest artist to be awarded a the prime feature slot at the next Burton Street Open mic night on 18th Aug. Previously featured acts include Tarana, Chris Treebeard & Paul Pearson and Anna Haigh.
" One Minute Wanda" aka Jo Pearson is a multidisciplinary artist whose previous film and web work has been funded by the Arts Council, Channel 4 and the BBC. Her work has been shown on British television as well as in dozens of festivals worldwide.
Her embryonic but unique performance work has grown out of a developing interest in words, sound, music and performance. Through various online and 'live' personae she explores, often with an absurd, acerbic and penetrating wit, wide-ranging themes from life in general to life in detail.
Come to the Root of Rhythm, drink good cheap beer and cocktails and listen to some of the most exciting live acts to grace the sheffield hillside in The Runaway Girl. This week King Mojo of Sheffield proudly hosts from St. Helens....
