The Blue Sunset Festival aims at rediscovering the genuine roots of Blues and gives everybody the chance to take part in the show. Every musician, no matter if professional or simply amateur, is allowed to play and share his music with other participants. The Blue Sunset is not an opportunity to show off; rather, it is a way to spread the spirit of Blues by improvising, sharing feelings and experiences, freely expressing oneself. We do not want just another festival where some well known artists perform in front of a standing crowd. We want something very different: the audience, if able to do that, is welcome to become part of the concert, as in the famous US southern-style Blues jams. / Il festival The Blue Sunset ha lo scopo di far riscoprire le vere origini del Blues dando a tutti i partecipanti la possibilità di prendere attivamente parte all’esibizione. Ogni musicista potrà suonare liberamente insieme agli altri, siano questi professionisti o semplici amatori. Più che un’occasione per far sfoggio della propria abilità, The Blue Sunset vuole essere un modo per comunicare e diffondere lo spirito del Blues, che è improvvisazione, condivisione di emozioni ed esperienze, libera espressione di se stessi.
L’idea è quella di dar vita non al solito concerto dove alcuni grandi musicisti si esibiscono di fronte ad un pubblico di semplici spettatori, bensì ad una situazione assai diversa, dove il pubblico (ove ne abbia la capacità) è chiamato a diventare parte integrante del concerto, nello stile caratteristico delle Blues Jam del Sud degli Stati Uniti.

The Festival's friendly atmosphere and non-competitive spirit successfully recreates the great blues jams in Chicago's Maxwell Street and Clarksdale, Mississippi in a way that the big, commercial festivals are unable to do.
