Who are The Bob Clymers?
What really distinguishes The Bob Clymers from other rock bands is their chemistry. From the very first rehearsal (initiated only to play in the 2007 Variety Show at Eureka High School) they were able to read each other, even without eye contact. When the Variety Show came about they played with so much energy that they not only alarmed the crowd but also themselves. From that point on they took their dedication to a new level and got serious about The Bob Clymers. Their playing style is extremely unique and that's mainly from the background influences and experiences that the two brought together. McKenna grew up listening to Elvis, 60's music, and blues. She has been playing piano longer than she has been able to walk, and first picked up the guitar in 2005. Ryne grew up on 90's music from Tonic and Matchbox 20 to Nirvana and Pantera. His unique drumming style was heavily influenced by drummers like Jimmy Chamberlin of The Smashing Pumpkins, Travis Barker of blink-182, and Doug Duffy of Cement. What he molded out of that was a hip-hop styled drum set technique blended with the aggression of Dave Grohl and the rudiments of Chamberlin. Bringing these two backgrounds together has aided them greatly in sculpting a unique sound the two solely call their own.
The band is now currently working on recording their second album, having already professionally recorded their first record The Gypsy in Santa Fe at Pure Sound Studios in Peoria. They perform shows as much as possible, each show given dedicated energy and intensity.
