Influences
Everyone from Johnny Cash to the Talking Heads. We have a great connection to alt. country bands like... wilco, ryan adams, steve earl, son volt etc., but also love a range of music from the Clash, Medeski, Martin and Wood, and Monk to the blues, bluegrass and the Grateful Dead.
Sounds Like
rootsy rock blended with country sensibilities, and alternative influences.
The Bogarts are not easily defined by genres, but have a close kinship to alt. country bands like the jayhawks, son volt, whiskeytown, and the Old 97s.
Their music harkens back to a simpler time, yet presses forward w/ purposeful jams, high lonesome harmonies, and lyrics that tackle topics from politics to heartache & retribution.
The band was started in 2003 when close friends Chris Rammacher and Shawn McKane invited an old acquaintance( Chris Passamonte) over to jam.
After playing together for fun, the trio decided to take it to the people, and started writing songs. In 2006, they added local guitar man Billy Piazza and subsequently keyboardist/multi instrumentalist Pat Post. In 2008, pedal steel and multi-instrumentalist Warren Sischo joined the band
