THE BOLTS HAVE STRONG NEW RELEASE - Robert Kinsler, (Music Critic to the Register) The Orange County Register, (2008)
The Bolts "Like a Fantasy"(independent) – "Formed less than a year ago, Irvine quintet the Bolts deliver a debut that's a solid full-length effort of radio-friendly modern rock blending strong hooks and youthful themes in convincing fashion. The title track and "Hero in Disguise" are especially infectious, but tracks such as the indie rock of "Dead of the Night" and Beach Boys-tinged "The New Era (We'll See in Time)" also showcase the young band's burgeoning skills. No wonder KROQ has been playing several tracks off this excellent disc.

LOVE IT! VERY WELL DONE GUYS - Taximusic.com (Music Industry Insider Association)
"You're on to something that not everyone has the capacity to tap into. You've found a sound of your own, although subtly reminiscent of other contemporary artists still unique... [you] sound like [you] - makes me want to hear more, which is a good thing!"

LOCAL (ORANGE COUNTY) ROCK BAND “THE BOLTS” TO PLAY VERIZON AMPHITHEATER - Cameron Bird, The Orange County Register, (2008)
"Now, not only are they are on semiregular radio rotation and in the sights of a major record label, but the Irvine-based quintet gets the chance to share the bill with some of their sonic forerunners on Saturday at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater...Among this crowd (Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance and All-American Rejects) the Bolts' sound snugly fits. Their first album (demos), "Like a Fantasy," ... provides a glimpse into their accessible, up-tempo style, with layers of vocal harmonies."
BOLTING UP THE SCENE - THE BOLTS GAIN ATTENTION ON MAINSTREAM RADIO AND LOCAL GIGS - Kelli Skye Fadroski - Squeeze OC, (2008)
"The Bolts is a fitting name for the group of young and energetic guys that have managed to get their music in regular rotation on KROQ… The sound is simple, toe-tapping indie rock that draws inspiration from artists ranging from the Beach Boys to the Killers…The guys hit the ground running with this band."
CSULB FRESHMAN (ADDAM FARMER) LOOKS TO STRIKE MUSICALLY WITH THE BOLTS - Adam Pringle, The Daily 49er, (late 2007)
"Addam Farmer is a music major who studies vocal performance and sings classically. But once the school day is over, Farmer straps on his bass and takes his place as singer/bassist for The Bolts, who specialize in playing dance rock …. stylish enough to make 1981 proud…their song "Like a Fantasy" has received radio airplay on KROQ…his band's sound (is) as a cross between The Killers and Muse, with a dash of The Beach Boys thrown in."
Addam Farmer bass, vocals
Heath Farmer guitar, vocals
Austin Farmer keyboard, vocals
Matt Champagne drums
Ryan Kilpatrick guitar, keyboard, vocals
LIKE A FANTASY - The debut album from The Bolts is packed with head-turning vocal harmonies, thumping rhythms, and infectious melodies that are bound to make anyone rethink their current engagements and allow themselves to vulnerably fall foolish to the addictive music that is influenced by pop culture giants such as The Strokes, The Killers, Muse, My Chemical Romance and many other catchy, youthful, and fun artists. The Bolts "deliver a debut that's a solid full-length effort of radio-friendly modern rock blending strong hooks and youthful themes in convincing fashion" (Robert Kinsler, music critic to the OC Register).
Ranging from feel-good pop-rock songs like "Til the Day I Die", to grooving hard rock beats as exemplified in "She Don't Know What She Means", to sing-a-long anthems like "The Art of Apathy", The Bolts have "found a sound of [their] own, although subtly reminiscent of other contemporary artists" (Taximusic.com).
WHO ARE THE BOLTS? - The Bolts is founded by brothers Addam Farmer, Heath Farmer and Austin Farmer (Fall 2007). While spending years performing and writing music for many of their other groups, the three Farmer brothers decided to invest the majority of their time, wits, and creativity in a group that featured the three of them together along with their good friends and talented musicians Ryan Kilpatrick and Matt Champagne.
After being together for only four months, demo versions of The Bolts’ original songs, “Like a Fantasy” and “She Don’t Know What She Means”, had earned the young quintet semi-regular radio rotation on Los Angeles and Orange County’s mainstream rock radio station, KROQ 106.7FM on the Locals Only Hour. Soon after, The Bolts quickly started gaining recognition from their local press, communities, and peers. With headlines like “The Bolts strike quickly”, “The Bolts’ rep heats up” and “Irvine’s precocious Bolts show telltale signs of maturity” from major local newspapers including the OC Register and OC Post, excitement for the indie band had been prolonged. A couple months later, The Bolts had earned themselves a primetime spot on the Bamboozle Left festival held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The Bolts currently have four original songs, "Dead of the Night", "Like a Fantasy", "She Don't Know What She Means", & "Hero in Disguise" on regular radio rotation on well known stations including KROQ 106.7FM, KBIG 104.3 MyFM, and many others. The Bolts continue to promote themselves and push their potential to the limits.
