The unprecedented full-length debut, “Anthems For A Dying Breed”, document the sensational arrival of a rousing new group. It’s apparent that this quartet of Los Angeles’ roaring troubadours have undergone some significant changes since their initial “No Sympathy” EP rippled the broad waters of rock and roll.
Frontman Brian Celi, with a dynamic new lineup in tow, proceeds to rail vehemently against an existence just long enough to succumb to heartbreak and bad decisions. With a versatile new voice and song-crafting approach, they teeter between eloquent and abrasive. Deadpan sincerity compromise the nostalgia embraced by similar acts.
The record provides the final crescendo and forte of a breed, arguably long since gone. It isn’t farfetched to say however, that the boys will be manning the genesis of a new breed. That is, as long as they can still make last call.
