The Booze Hounds are often billed as a trailer trash country and rock and roll band. There music has been described as trashy country, trashy rock, western blues rock and even trashy americana. Front man Rob Lethert , says "We just like to play well written songs." Three months after begining rehearsals in the spring of 2004 they recorded an album of covers titled "Beer" to use as a demo to get the ball rolling and get some gigs. This demo album covers songs by an interesting array of artists including Steve Earle, The Bottle Rockets, Lucero, Slobberbone, Slaid Cleves, Cracker, and Townes Van Zant.
The Booze Hounds like to have a good time when they perform and bring a lot of energy to their shows. When they play for a crowd that gives a lot of energy back, something special happens and the electricity in the air is palpable. Rob's flawless rhythm guitar, soulful harmonica, and inspiring vocals blend beautifully with "Texas Ted" Culp's hard edged lead guitar and poignant slide work. Throw in John Bachman on the Bass and Kenny Stancil on the drums for an always super tight rythum section and a band thats best enjoyed live!
The Booze Hounds enjoy having special guests and have had some exceptional musicians join them on stage. They include David Walker, who did stints with Fleetwood Mac, Black sabbath, and Savoy Brown. The first time Walker played with the Booze Hounds he commented to the audience, "These boys have the right idia." Kenny and Claudia Williams of Montana Rose are also frequent guests. Rob and Claudia's vocal harmonies
have been compared to Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams. Tex Tucker, whose album "Between The Tracks" was featured on the national radio show
"Blues Deluxe" is also known to sit in with the boys.
The Hounds have also opened up for a number of great bands from all over the country. The list Includes "Cross Canadian Ragweed", David Allen Coe, Mitch Rider and Detroit Wheels", Joe Bonamassa and "Corb Lund and The Hurtin' Albertans."
The Booze Hounds are a fun band to watch and a fun bunch of guys to party with. They just finnished up on the new EP Happy Hour wich is in stores now and can be purchased on line at CD Baby or digistation.
