MoviesI am a sucker for cheap terrible movies that are so bad they are entertaining, with no budget, no professionals, Terrible acting, and bad props. Yeah, that's just me. Such as B-rate films from the 50's and 60's. Great stuff.... I can basically watch anything, but I do have my preferences. Even if its a terrible, romantic chick flick, I can still find a way to enjoy it. Oh yeah, did I mention I am in LOVE with movie serials from back in the day? Such serials as Flash Gordon and Spy Smasher? Yeah, they are cheesy but awesome! I have also found a new love for Silent films too! Anyway, here are some favorite films of mine: V for Vendetta, Edward Scissorhands, The Doors, The Blues Brothers, Purple Rain, Labyrinth, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, The original Star Wars Trilogy,Pink Floyd: The Wall, Alien, Back To The Future, Batman Begins, Walk Hard, Iron Man, The Rocketeeer, Dr. Strangelove, Revenge of the Nerds, Talladega Nights,Dead Alive, Wizard of Oz, War of the Worlds (1953), Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein, King Kong (1933), Any Godzilla Movies except for that blasphemous 1997 movie, Any Cheesy Kung Fu Movies, A Chinese Ghost Story 1 and 2, The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, Slapshot, The Monster Squad, Inframan, Dawn of the Dead(1978), Night of the Living Dead, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Changeling, Ed Wood, The Shining, The Haunting (1963), American Graffiti, Fight Club, The Jerk, Spider-Baby, White Zombie, Braveheart, Empire of the Sun, A Christmas Story, Life is Beautiful, Saving Private Ryan, O Brother Were Art Thou?, Casino Royale, The Iron Giant, The Exorcist, Arsenic and Old Lace, Young Frankenstein, Dumbo, Fantasia, The Goonies, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Spaceballs, Stand By Me, The Great Escape, Airplane!, Dazed and Confused, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, Gettysburg, Im gonna git you Sucka, Hollywood Shuffle, Tales from the Hood, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Freaks, Fox and the Hound, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk till Dawn, Captain Blood, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, The Thing (1982), Rock n' Roll High School, Reptilicus!,Tropic Thunder, Stalag 17, No Time For Sergeants, Gran Torino, J- Men Forever!, The Omega Man, Amazon Women on the Moon, 2000 Maniacs, Control, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, The Frighteners, The Lost Boys, Fright Night, Army of Darkness, Final Justice, The Girl In Lovers Lane, Manhunt In Space, Soultaker, Super Agent Secret Dragon, Zombie Nightmare, Metropolis, Laserblast, Werewolf, The Wasp Woman, Nosferatu, The Robot Vs. The Aztec Mummy, Gamera, Driving Miss Daisy, Fail Safe, The Lost World (1925), Brazil, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, Conquest of the Pole, Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?, The Fearless Vampire Killers, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Carnival Of Souls, Escape From New York, Waking Ned Divine, Phantom Planet, 13 Ghosts (1960), Zombie, Bubba Hotep, Machine Girl, The Exorcist, Clockwork Orange, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison, Tunes of Glory, and many many more!
TelevisionWhy watch TV? Everything good is coming out on DVD anyway... I dig many different television programs, mainly my childhood tv shows because I am so nostalgic, but can't stand reality Tv shows...However it is sometimes very entertaining to watch immature adults whine about each other for good laughs... I know, I am so close-minded. Luckily, my dad brainwashed me into watching all those "old" tv shows. Don't care for all those shows on CBS and ABC all that junk. It seems everything I watch that is good always gets cancelled! Which is why I cease to watch much Tv... *sniff* But, nonetheless, a list must be comprised! After all, your getting to know me right?

Gigantor, The Herculoids, Spider-man (the classic and 90's cartoons), Clutch Cargo, The Banana Splits, Happy Days, Hogan's Heroes, Madmen, Flight of the Conchords, Mr. Show, SCTV, The Tick, Ultraman, Spectreman, X-men (animated series from the 90's), Fantastic Four (animated series from the 90's), Iron Man (animated series from the 90's), Dexter's Laboratory, The Twilight Zone, Fresh Prince, DynaMan, South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Looney Tunes/ Merry Melodies, The O'Reilly Factor, MXC, Tom and Jerry, In Living Color, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Mystery Science Theater 3000,
Books For me, not only do I read books, but I am also passionate about collecting Silver-age (50's, 60's, and 70's) comic books. My collection is huge.(geek alert.)
War of the Worlds (Still my favorite book). What, you mean Tom Sawyer or Forming?  'Cause I did both of those a long time ago.

I decided to answer your simple questions in the form of a pretentious and unnecessarily long blog.

Oh, and I would have answered sooner, but for some reason Myspace sometimes doesn't notify me when I get a comment.

Yeah, I agree. I'm talking about legitimate musicals, like Sondheim and Bernstein works. Jersey Boys WAS fantastic, I saw that as well, when it came to TPAC. Legally Blonde was a giant steaming pile of bile on the shoe of Broadway. Lol. I'm glad you like musicals, though. I do a lot of them, I actually just got back from Governor's School for the Arts for Technical Theatre.
Rachel.

Im excited. Lol. So what is your opinion on musicals? Cause I know some people absolutely HATE them, and then there are people who like them.... there's no real middle ground =]

Agreed, my music taste just covers wide plains =]. I don't think so. Are they bands or movies?

Jul 12 2009 8:54 PM

Oh I love the Specials! My friend that got me listening to ska requiered me to listen to them before any others. I agreee that London Calling is less than satisfactory =]
Rachel.

Jul 12 2009 8:22 PM

Oh I totally agree. I tend to burn myself out on certain albums, and cringe when certain songs come on, because I've heard them SO MUCH. Ugh. Lol. I have a few Kinks albums. I'm a bit more into the Clash, though. Lately I've really been into ska, though. Like Streetlight Manifesto, Mad Caddies, the Mighty Might Bosstones, and such =]
Rachel.

Jul 12 2009 8:12 PM

That's awesome =]. Pretty much all of my music is on my computer.....obtained in shady ways....lol. I have every Beatles Album, including the Christmas album where all they do is talk about things completely unrelated to Christmas. Lol. Plenty of bootleg vinyl, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pete Townsend's Iron Man the Musical. But mostly I collect Beatles, whether I have several copies or not. Lol. I saw that you have quite an extensive list of music intrests, that's awesome. =]
Rachel.

Ah, yes, the Great Escape.  How I do love thee.  I haven't been in a while, though, 'tis a shame.  But I always have to top off my comic runs with a stop at Cafe CoCo!  I have no idea if that's how you're supposed to spell it...

So, you're in college, aye?  What for?

You have Days of Future Past?!?  ... I think ... you should invite me over!   Yeah!

Oh man, collecting comics sucks, though I'm trying to.  I just find random old issues, but there's hundreds to get!  Although I do like others, I'm just concentrating on X-Men.  Ever since I was a little kid I've just been in love with it.

I knew everything you just said, believe it or not!  I've always wanted to read the old Batman and Superman, but there's not way I'm coughing up that much cash!  Haha see, now I feel like a right jerk.  I never buy albums, though I would buy records if I but had a player for them.  Oh man I love old movies, too, it's such an odd hobby of mine!  Flynn was in Robin Hood as well, wasn't he?  Yes, he was, I'm sure!  Though I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Captain Blood.  Haha, I tend to watch everything AMC shows.

Jun 8 2009 8:51 AM

That's not frightening!  My friends and I probably just judged every bit of work you did as we sat and watched the new movie previews (we're huge movie buffs), then judged your personality based on that and then, on top of it all, judged you by your looks.
... or not!
But in all seriousness, that's most likely what we did.
But hey, I see you have some interesting interests!  (Besides having an obnoxiously long list of favourite artists.) You like some awesome movies.  Captain Blood!  Man.  Good times.  And what comics do you collect?!?  I inherited complete sets of Dungeons and Dragons as well as some others, but I'm expecially into X-Men.  God.  I love X-Men.

Indeed, I have. It is a powerful gift of mine to see through to the true forms of heroes and evil-doers alike.

But, uh, it's a pleasure to (internet) meet you, as well! You might call me Kasey, if it pleases you. I do believe I have seen you at work, if you do, in fact, work at the Providence theater with one Ivan Phelps?

Awww... Haha shucks =) Yeah I cant say I miss working there lol. But you always made it bearable.
Harrison Arkansas aka "Borneo" is fine. Im actually getting ready to move to Eureka Springs which is pretty much the awesomest place Ive ever been to. Its basically a place where a ton of really rad people and badass hippies moved to and they all live in Victorian houses that were built in the 1800's. Its a big tourist attraction. I am in love with it =)
