THE BOTS, Mikaiah Lei (16) and Anaiah Lei (13) were born to a Chinese Father and Afro-Caribbean Mother. Mikaiah is currently attending Glendale High School in Glendale; CA. Anaiah attends Roosevelt Middle School also in Glendale, CA.
Both school have challenging music programs that allowed the bothers to thrive
(They are will verse in multi musical instruments).
But most of their musical talents are self-taught do to their motivation, love and passion for music.
Between schoolwork, performing and recording, THE BOTS continue to be heavily involved in everything music oriented that their schools and community have to offer.
They never loose focus on schoolwork (Education Is A Must). They will spend most of their free time writing and composing their ORIGINAL tunes.
Anaiah’s love for percussion and Mikaiah’s adoration and respect for guitars (he has named each that he owns) is obvious and captivating to witness. Their music is the
Non-manufactured truth! Their sound dips into Punk, Ska, Rock and Reggae. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Bad Brains, LA’s Wasted Youths, Vampire Weekend (to name only a few) have all been “Instrumental” in their journey.
What started out as a simple desire to entertain, evolved into vital outlet of expression and avenue for communication for the brothers and before long, their music took on a identity of it’s own: THE BOTS.
