"The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Or in this case, the chocolate spread sandwhiches. Teen indie rock trio The Bottom Bunk only formed in April 2007 and already they’ve played a major festival (Leeds) and BBC radio session. The buzz about the band is building quicker than hornets at the honeypot and not just because they’ve got the best name in the business. Listen to the music and the instant success makes perfect sense. Rock is worthless if not played like it’s a matter of life and death and the urgency of songs like She’s In But She Doesn’t Wanna See You - a pleading dialogue with the mum of a fancied bird - shows these lads know it. Driven by Ian Ferguson’s ramming-speed drums, their tunes hurtle headlong into the fray where Will Howes’ bullying basslines and fearless vocals lock horns with Tom Milner’s combative guitars. Crossing the amphetamine frenzy of Bromheads Jacket with the Arctic’s smarts, the band’s recordings are raw, angular, infectious and every bit as thrilling as their sweaty live shows. Taking a lead from Jamie T and Alex Turner, Howes sings about what he knows - last night’s broken bottles, Ray Mears, The No 10 Bus and yes, Chocolate Spread Sandwiches. British music has been invigorated by the move to social realism and mining wit and passion from the hum-drum, The Bottom Bunk paints a picture of the teen experience every bit as vivid and honest as a YouTube video diary. To paraphrase their own lyrics, they’re making their choices and taking their chances and, on the strength of what they’ve already achieved, the opportunities should come thick and fast." Now then. Wished I'd known you were on first the other night. I walked in and saw you playing, and you said it was your last song. Would have been a much better night if I saw your full set. Hungry ghosts sucked too :s
Bromheads made up for it though
I think you're a quality band btw, even though I've only seen you once before

On Thursday 31st July Hessian brings you our most exciting gig yet:
RATATAT at the newly opened Duchess, York - a fantastic underground lair of a venue.
Support comes from Leeds' awesome Wintermute, and with DJing from Grim Beeper, Tim Prudames and Ollie Harvey to look forward to it should be a great night.
You are invited to Katie & the Questions first gig at the Junction Leeman Road, York on the 9th July. Only £4 on the door.
Katie & The Questions were formed out the prefabs of North Yorkshire in June 2008, when Katie met guitar playing keyboardist ‘E’ after he advertised for someone to play ‘shove halfpenny’ with. They clicked over their love of guitar based music and decided to form a band.
Katie and the band play a pulsating brand of powerpop, new wave punkpop check them out at their myspace site
Thanks for your kind comment - it's been a real pleasure! Sorry I couldn't be there last night - but - I will be down for Bright Young Things on 28th. mike x
Now then guys hope ur all well. I believe Hazel e-mailed you before regarding putting a clip of one of your songs on our website, along with others, as an example of past studio projects. This is hopefully still going ahead, however, if you could send me a couple of sentences describing yourself and your music then I can put it up with your music and contact info. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers! Si - Purple Pro
