I am Christopher JOhn. I play the piano and sing, and sometimes accordion and bass drum too, but often people don't have pianos, so I play my roland keyboard.
My music is this formula:
Early Julie Andrew's fixation Music of the Pop Idoym
OVER
X
OVER
Classical Piano Tuition
eccentric rhythms and simple melody
= ME.
I have been working on my second album for an age... But the songs demand to be heard, and i demand that they are recorded true to there nature. With all the magic that was in my heart when i wrote them. So watch this space. xxx
chris.... i am playing at komedia at 8pm sharp tomorrow, supporting a really really really great singer called diane cluck. doors are 7:30, it would be good to see you if you wanted to come along -rowan
hey chris! of course i remember, & i'd love to play on your music sometime. hah, actually i had been thinking about whether you might want to play on mine at some point. perhaps we could draw lots. i've been very busy finishing my degree but it will in fact be finished on this coming monday. i'll need to adjust to the world and find purpose and stuff like that (i look forward to it). but... yes, we should definitely engineer some music playing once i am done. also, are you playing any gigs about in the town? -r x
Hey you! hope it's all shining for you today. Just thought I'd let you know we've got some videos up online of our Amnesty gig on saturday if you'd like to see. Be good to see you soon, when is your next gig?
For your verbal sunshine merci Christopher. My animation Job: Working two days a week on the 3000 hand painted drawings took me four months. I hope that satisfy your curiosity? Are you well? >>----> xxX Angela
Bonne annee et bonne santee Christopher!! The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months! New year Love, Angela xxX
Hello Christoff, I have scanned photos from the good old days at Salford uni and you're on quite a few of them. Horlock court, Claremont road and even one or two in a pub in Manchester. If you want to see them... you'd better send me some more music :)))) just kidding. I've uploaded them all on facebook. But because you haven't got an account, I'll email them to you tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for adding me, and for the thoughtful dialogue about music. I have to tell you, I live in St. John's Newfoundland & Labrador where we had 'the Accordion Revolution' "Nearly 1,000 people played their accordions in St. John's, setting a world record for the largest crowd to play the instrument simultaneously"
but I've never heard an accordion played as mournfully as yours on your composition, 'Plain Sailing'. It sits perspiring nervously, between the sound of the organ in versions of J.S. Bach's 'Die Kunst Der Fugue', and the distant ship's horns & fog horns I've heard here in St. John's.
Few artists posssess your unique gifts: the ability to speak honestly through creation with such poise and stylistic variance. The gift of juxtaposing the ebullience of "like sugar" to the yearning, brave, alomst pensive self-analysis that is "Christopher John", and the courage to adorn minimalist beauty with a melange of vulnerability and resolute individuality. Thanks for summoning the heart from classicism and sharing with us the living alchemy that is your music.
hallo again christopher, we met on a train. you don't think you could email me a copy of simple boy do you? i'm quite obsessed with it. listen to Two in the Hand, she's ace.
