The Brass Kats formed way back in 2001, in a smokey woodland near Brooklands College in Weybridge, UK.
A few drinks aside the band was formed, although then they were more of an acoustic comedy blues and rock act.
Their first EP was recorded in January of 2004 in Barcelona on the beach con mucho beeros y poros, where The BK ended up playing everything from spanish street/beach parties to dirty DnB holes, in the heart of the city. This brought about a new era of music in BCN, Drum & Bass new to the city, and starting to take a hold was merged with heavy metal guitar, a fresh brand of MC's, Sax/Claranet, Percussion, a little bit of Dij & some God damn blusy Harmonica.
SkaKore Drum & Brass was born.
The following summer The Brass Kats were back in the studio, this time joined by Ben 'The Drunk' Ben Goodfellow, who had missed the Spanish venture upto now.
The EP following entitled "Extravaganza" proved a worthy transition between acoustic and that oh so essentail full band sound, and sprouted the first punk tune 'Chumbuglin' which sparked the flame which bought you 'Some Days Later' - Email Us Now for a Free Album Demo -
Now a year on, with Some Days Later still in mastering, The Brasskats are already back at it, with preperation for the new Live DVD, and some word of a new album already underway. Watch this space, Summer Dates are coming very soon.
