About me:
Hi!
My name's Craig. I'm the Artistic Associate at The Brewhouse in Taunton, Somerset. I am in charge of programming at the venue and have just set up our MySpace. Stay tuned for updates and exciting ways to interact with your local theatre & arts centre.

Who I'd like to meet:
**Any local young bands (up to age 25) who might be interested in gigs at The Brewhouse.
We have a band night in our Studio on the second saturday of every month starting at 8pm Saturday, where you can set up, plug in and play. Anyone can come and watch - its FREE!!!
**Any visual/performance artists/dance/theatre practitioners interested in contributing to SCRATCH nights on the last Thursday every month.

The Summer Set presented by The Brewhouse insideOUT
What do you love about Somerset? And what do you hate about Somerset? These are questions we asked people all over the county to help us find five real people willing to put together an exciting new show, The Summer Set.
This performance, designed to provoke, intrigue and entertain, will be taking place outside The Brewhouse this week and next.
Audiences are invited to gather around the barbecue to share food, experiences, hopes and dreams, as a set of individuals cook up a storm and tell their own personal stories about what it's like to live in Somerset.
Quarantine Theatre, who are based in Manchester and recently presented Susan and Darren at The Brewhouse to a fantastic response, have championed this style of interactive performance. Masters of the art of stripping away pretence and leaving the truth on display, Lyn Gardner of The Guardian is a vocal supporter of their work:
“Quarantine has created a series of shows excavating the lives of real people, and we've never seen one of these fragile, beautiful performances that wasn't an outright winner.”

ast year the award-winning NoFit State Circus wowed the people of Taunton when they presented Immortal as part of the Brewhouse’s insideOUT programme. Now, Westival 2009 is delighted to welcome the UK’s leading contemporary circus company back to Taunton with their brand new show - tabú.
tabú poses the question: why is it that humans choose the dark side? Or is it the dark side that chooses us?
tabú is a new journey and exploration into the darker side of being. It isn’t a freak show, it isn’t voyeurism. It is the tissue we are made of and which like death itself, we cannot fully grasp, let alone explain.
Combining cutting edge circus, performance, live music, and video the audience enter the giant silver spaceship big top and become immersed in a promenade circus event taking place above around and amongst the audience in an explosion of furious fun and choreographed mayhem. Leave your circus preconceptions behind and join us for a turbo charged, ninety-minute, life changing roller coaster ride.
