The Brickyard is Carlisle's premier and only full-time live music venue. Since 2002, we have been dedicated to the growth of Carlisle's indigenous talents - bands, DJs and promoters alike.
In the first 5 years, a host of talents have come to play at the venue: bands like Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian and
the Fratellis all played here on their upward curve. Such punk legends as
the Damned, the Slits,
Stiff Little Fingers and
the Undertones have all played the Brickyard stage, also rocked hard by everyone from the Datsuns through to Biffy Clyro, Reuben and Amen. Everyone from
the Scratch Perverts and DJ Yoda, to Mani,
Peter Hook and the Futureheads have played DJ sets here. True mavericks from Roy Harper, John Cooper Clarke and
the Fall, through to the Brian Jonestown Massacre and Pete Doherty's
BabyShambles, have all made their mark here.
We are now drawing a line under all of this, and are forging ahead with fresh highs in view. We're going to deal with all the Displacements, Maybes?, and TBCs as best we can, and make a b-line to give you the Brickyard we all deserve. Spread the word!
Buying tickets and Age restrictions To book in advance and prevent disappointment on our ticketed gigs, call Ticketweb on 08700 600100 or click this link: Also, tickets for some events will be available from Carlisle's Ruby Blue vintage apparel boutique (always worth a visit), or often directly from local bands on their gigs here.
IMPORTANT: if you are under 18, always check the age restrictions as listed on our official website, as all club nights and most gigs here are strictly for over-18s. If you are over 18 and youthful-looking, bring ID to ensure your entry and patronage of the bar.
