"Their particular blend of folk fusion is fairly unique. Their fiddles and mandolins are guided by traditional Celtic riffs while elements of alternative rock and blues seep into the guitar and organ. Their youthful energy and lyrics give them a modern touch to balance out their mostly classical instruments."

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
You guys are awesome, it was so great to meet you all!! We had so much fun dancin and hearing ridiculous stories about sheep. Wish we had fiddlin chops like you guys! We are inspired :) Thanks for making the night super fun, Im sure we will see eachother again in the near future, good luck to all of you during the year and keep in touch!
Hey BBs -- good luck with the concert at 939. Wish I could be there, but I've got a meeting that night. I'm sure you'll rock the house, of course; hope y'all got people shooting video so you can post the evidence!
Wow. Just, wow. What a great show you guys put on last night. I felt so happy for you, and gotta say, even experienced a bit of surrogate parental/ex-morris ale chaperone pride. Damn, gotta get in some jamming with you before y'all scatter off to your various colleges and other places.
Just got the chance to listen to the first couple tunes on the CD. nice singing (I don't think I've heard that from you yet....) and is the JVC playing mando?
new tracks are...hawt!! I freakin love that vocal break in Crooked Jack!! Good comments below on the mixing, though. What happened to your drummer? And if you want to play some more live, you should give me a call. I can give you a couple places that are great if you just wanna play.
My Space is being weird about playing the whole tracks, as to the mixes though, its hard to hear the instruments. Like on Chris' Song, the first solo about a minute in is definitely hard to hear. In general, I'd bring up the instrumentation closer to Chris' voice. Things also sound... a little dry to my ear. The production quality is great though.
