the bridge's Interests
General
Pretty much anything! We do lots of stuff... Like hayrides, luaus, nights of worship, Christmas parties, New Year's Parties (coming up soon! also taking ideas!), Fourth of July parties, Labor Day parties, Memorial Day parties, parties for the sake of having a party, Softball (we have a team! let us know if you want to join!), flag football (Saturdays at BPHS), rock concerts, broomball, and more!!!
Music
We like lots of music! Our worship band is amazing! Come hear! We have quite a facility and a number of artists have graced our stage (Pocket Full of Rocks, Jason Gray, The Season, Seventh Day Slumber)! We like to rock!! Now check out OUR PODCASTS! HERE!!
The Bridge is a community of young adults from all over the Pittsburgh area who are aged 18-35, single or married, with kids or with out. Some of us have gone to church since we were young and others have never darkened the door of a church in our lives!
WE ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT RELIGION OR DENOMINATION!!
We're more concerned about helping people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. We meet every week in a relaxed, comfortable setting to see what the Bible has to say about "Living life on Purpose".
Check us out sometime, we're sure that you'll find we have a place where you can belong!
WHEN & WHERE
The Bridge, our weekly service, meets on Sunday nights at 6:00pm at South Hills Assembly (2725 Bethel Church Rd in Bethel Park--just minutes from the South Hills Village Mall).
WHAT TO EXPECT
So you thought church was for holy people and stained glass saints. You thought church was something people did on Sundays and then forgot about it the rest of the week. You thought church was boring and out-of-touch with your life. You thought church wasn't for you... BUT THIS ISN'T ORDINARY CHURCH! We're simply a group of people searching for God. We want to see how He is working in the world today. So, if you're wondering, "Where do you go to find God?" this is a great place to start looking.
Come and visit. Ask lots of questions. We'll search for the answers together.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
- The Bible is inspired by God. It is the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authorative rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- There is one true God, who has revealed himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
- The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
The bible declares:
His virgin birth (Matthew (1:23)
His sinless life. (Hebrews 7:26)
His miracles (Acts 2:22)
His death on the cross, as a substitute for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3)
His resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6)
His position at the right hand of God (Acts 1:9)
- The resurrection of those who have already died and the rapture together with those who are alive at the second coming of Jesus Christ is the soon-coming, blessed hope of all Christ followers. (Titus 2:13)
- The only means of salvation from sin is through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. (luke 24:47)
- We believe in water baptism by immersion. (Matthew 28:19)
- Divine healing is provided for through the work of Christ on the cross, in answer to believing prayer. (1Peter 2:24)
- The baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
- Scriptures teach a life of holiness "without which no man shall see the Lord". (Hebrews 12:14)
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the spiritually lost, the one to eternal life in heaven and the other to eternal damnation in hell.
Hey, Bridgers! I wanted to say hey, and I miss you all...I haven't quit the Bridge, but I've had some Sunday night obligations lately (including work) that have kept me from seeing your lovely faces. But I'm thinking about you and wishing all of you many great things! Love you guys...
*sigh* I missed the party last night, NOW I'm going to miss my very first ever Bridge Christmas party! Stupid Saturday work schedule!!! I'm bummed, but I'm looking forward to New Years!!! :D Can't wait to find out what's gonna go down... & if I can think of anything, I'll let ya know! Much love!
Hey, Bridge!! Don't forget about the World Vision Outreach this Saturday! Meet at 8am at the church. We are going to be working on a school supplies donation. Come & join us & check it out!
Thank you, Bridge, so much for providing the food & opportunity to do outreach & talk to the people on the South Side. I think those of us who went can say that we feel so blessed & touched by what Christ is doing in our lives & what He'll be doing with all those seeds we planted last night! God bless & happy T-Day!!
Hi Bridge! I feel really bad for missing our Sunday services but I've had alot of things going on, between family Sunday dinners (football season) and band practices. I've been booked up alot. I can't really make any promises but I enjoy coming out and just taking in the things that have to be said. I'm definately not falling away from God if thats what people have been thinking, though. I hope to see everyone again sometime soon! Possibly this week. <3 you!
Hey Bridge family, don't forget that we are having a blood drive Sunday, 16 September (next weekend) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the SHAG MPR. I invite you to please donate, or help out with food because we are having a cookout also! Please message or send me a comment if you are interested! In Christ's Love, Megan
