The Beatles, Weezer, Ryan Adams, Sufjan Stevens, Gillian Welch, Split Enz, America, Neil Young, Counting Crows, Radiohead, The Grates, Kate Bush. To be honest we have never really gotten into any Christian bands, except for Sufjan who is a genius. We tried to listen to casting crowns but kept getting them mixed up with counting crows and there just wasn't room in our lives 4 2 bands with such similar names.
THE BRIGADIERS are Sydney Salvo sonqwriters, writing music to sing in Church. We pass demos around to each other and some of them end up being posted here for a while. This should be the place to go for woship tunes that are a little different.. perhaps a little more thought grinding than your typical modern day church song.. bring back William Cowper.. or better yet listen to these guys.. if you want to find them check the inner city pubs, inner west church halls, and outer west donkey farms.... or email.
WOAH. Anthem for truth rocks. I could just imagine it metal style, with the gain way up and some freak with no throat screaming those lyrics straight from the heart. but as it is, it's still pretty good. turn everything else off, and just sit and listen.
cool cool cool. hey can you get me a cd of all the brigadiers songs? im really diggin em. oh and put back to 94 on it too if you can so i can learn before we record
thanks for the add guys, nice tunes. We're recording at the moment (actually im going into the studio for a session in about an hour), so hopefully after it's all done we can play a few shows together
Yes, I will be there tonight. Did Phil tell you we jammed with that drummer from glebe last night?
