Hailing from Stroudsburg, PA, The Brightlife is an up and coming 5 piece rock band, who integrates a fresh blend of piano, synth, and guitar driven melodies. The undeniable combination of unique musical melodies and heart warming vocals will leave your ears pleased and begging for more. This group, whose ages range from 18 to 24 years old, utilizes their unique personas and artistic desire to deliver a positive message that’s packaged with unforgettable tunes. “I think the thing that drives us to make music, is that we all would like to make people feel better,” admits bassist Haamid Dash. “That’s kind of the meaning behind our name, The Brightlife. We want people to listen to our music and have it brighten their day, their week, or hopefully…their life.”
In addition to being devoted, ambitious, and hard working, the band takes pride in their high energy live show experience. “I always love going to shows and seeing bands that move around on stage”, explains guitarist Jerry Powell. “If I can see that their rocking out and having fun, then I know that they’re enjoying themselves and that means I’m enjoying myself as well.” That sentiment is what The Brightlife wants each member of the audience to feel every time that they see them play live.
Now after taking nearly a year to focus primarily on writing all new music, The Brightlife feels ready to take their position amongst the showstoppers of the independent rock genre. Since releasing their first EP, “Ready To Explode”, in December 2008, critics and fans alike have begun to compare their sound to some of the most successful bands in their category(Boys Like Girls, Mae, Motion City Soundtrack, Paramore, The Maine, & Forever the Sickest Kids). “Ready To Explode” was engineered by Dave “Yukon” Cutrone (Motionless In White) and is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the talent, energy, and diversity of The Brightlife. With their debut EP, The Brightlife is now determined to become your new favorite obsession.
In only a few short months, this optimistic, fun-loving group has built a loyal fan base through local, regional, and national recognition. Having been seen and featured in outlets such as Alternative Press Magazine, PureVolume, SmartPunk, The Daily Chorus, and AbsolutePunk, the band is ready to take the scene by storm. Their attitude and overall character pushes them to continue to book shows, record more songs, and bring the best live performances to their fans. In the past, the band has played in various types of venues and events including the ever growing summer musical festival, The Vans Warped Tour. Being no strangers to sharing the stage with well established bands in front of large crowds, The Brightlife plans to continue this trend with more touring, music, and unwavering passion. Make sure to keep an eye out for this band in the future!
