About me:

Welcome to the Bristol Festival myspace

The Bristol Festival;
A volunteer built celebration of Bristol culture, inspiring passion and creativity. This exciting community festival is a showcase of talent from the Southwest region, from music and dance, to cabaret and art. Following last year's success, with the Bristol Festival winning Venue magazine’s Top Event of 2008, this year’s festival is planned for the weekend of September 18th, 19th & 20th.

The festival is made up of two parts, Brizzolfest and Rave on Avon, which include multiple indoor venues and an outdoor hub of activity in Lloyd's Amphitheatre, Bristol’s central Harbourside area.

Performances across 7 outdoor stages and 10 nightclubs will encompass a huge range of the region’s arts, theatre, comedy and music, in an engaging weekend of action packed, highly interactive entertainment.

The main outdoor festival hub of entertainment

Friday 18th September 6pm - Midnight,
Saturday 19th September 11am - Midnight
Sunday 20th September 11am - 10pm

Location:
Lloyd's Amphitheatre, Waterfront Square, Millennium Square and Anchor Square Bristol city centre Harbourside area, BS1 5LL

Rave on Avon
Saturday 19th September 10pm
various closing times between 2am and 8am.

10 nightclubs across the city centre - exact clubs and locations to be announced -watch this space!
,
Built from the ground up, Bristol Festival aims to involve YOU, the general public at every opportunity to ensure the people of Bristol and the South West get the community festival celebrating the region's music, performing arts and local culture that they want.

Who I'd like to meet:

All the lovely people of Bristol and the South West!

We are currently inviting everyone to get involved and tell us what you want in a festival. Take ownership, make suggestions and make a difference by volunteering, performing or joining in the discussions on the online forum:

Where would you like it to be?
What music would you like to hear?
What would you like to see?
How much corporate sponsorship would you like to see?
What size would you like it? What would you like it to be called?

It's your festival - get involved!

If you are interested in playing at the festival or one our fundraiser nights, please email contact details and info to

[ PERFORM[AT]THEBRISTOLFESTIVAL[DOT]ORG ]

See the official website at www.thebristolfestival.org for more information or to get in touch!

Please spread the word... its about time we combated the apathy of today's culture. Have your say, support the arts, get involved in your festival!

Lets keep this party alive people!!!!

All looks amazing and even more going on than last year :)

2 quick questions - will Bristol Ticket Shop be selling tickets this year? plus are Lets Tea Party playing on the Sunday? They went down brilliantly last year and were also superb on the main stage at the recent Harbour Festival.

I remember back last year playing to the early morning staff being rushed on stage by a frantic stage manager and the festival hadn't even opened. Ah those were the days. Batteries in the walkie talkie? xxxx John Bones
