Band Members	Metal from Finland Awardseissa kuudenneksi vuoden tulokas kategoriassa sijoittunut The Broken Sun perustettiin kylmänä, syksyisenä iltana Pohjois-Helsingissä vuonna 2006. Pienen jamittelun jälkeen bändi omaksui Grunge/Metal/Hard Rock tyylinsä, ja äänitti ensimmäisen EP:n "Come Alive". Keikkailtuan The Broken Sun siirtyi treenikselle säveltämään uutta ja paljon agressiivisempaa materialia. Uusien biisien myötä bändi joutui kovan paikan eteen kun tuli aika julkaista uusi EP. Vuoden 2007 alussa The Broken Sun päätti lopulta äänittää omakustannelevyn joka sai nimekseen "The Beginning of the Bitter End". Heti debyyttialbuminsa julkaisun jälkeen The Broken Sun herätti isoa mielenkiintoa sekä Suomessa että USA:ssa. Pohdittuaan pienen tovin bändi päätti, ettei aio etsiä levy-yhtiötä suomesta vaan keskittyisi suoraan ulkomaille, joka johti kolmen levyn levytyssopimukseen Kalifornialaiseen indie levy-yhtiön Irish Rose Music kanssa. The Broken Sun herätti myös kiinostusta itänaapurissamme. Yhtye matkusti syyskuussa 2008 esiintymään St.Petersburg Alternative Music Awards tapahtumaan erikoisvieraina ja sai erittäin lämpimän vastaanoton niin yleisöltä, kuin keikkamyyjiltä. 2009 tyytymättömyyteensä Irish Rose Music levy-yhtiön toiminnan vuoksi The Broken Sun päätti mennä tauolle.
