Sounds Like
A blend of finely crafted pop songwriting, emotionally charged, visceral rock and lyrical, rhythmical and melodic intricacy.
The Bronze, in essence, is less of a band and more of a musical idea that has organically grown and developed over the past three years. The journey began in inner-Sydney with songwriter Aaron Peden, then at the proverbial crossroads, penning and crafting tunes on his acoustic guitar that he would record on his 8-track and perform in his lounge room to an empty bottle of vodka. Upon his return to Perth, Aaron had written a batch of songs he thought were worth sharing, and enlisted close friend Jon Stewart to start performing the tunes live. Adopting the moniker of "The Bronze” (an obscure reference to their favourite TV show, Buffy), Aaron and Jon started performing open mic nights, which led to regular gigs at some of Perth’s major venues, including Mojos, The Swan Basement, The Hydey, and the band’s highlight to date, a coveted spot at the Fairbridge Folk Festival. Relishing the success but needing a platform to better express their ideas, The Bronze enlisted Ash Porter for Bass duties, and after an extensive search, finally added Ken Stivey on drums to complete the line up. The Bronze finally complete, the quartet are currently working on their first studio album and gigging regularly around most of Perth’s local music haunts…

So there I was in Dubrovnik, Croatia when you sent thru the July 28 comment about your up-coming August 9 EP launch.
As per usual for the last 6 months, whenever you're playing- so are we. We were down for a Swan Basement slot that night. That was before storm damage called off the show. For a brief moment I thought I'd be able to cath The Bronze for your EP launch until I got what I thought was a pretty bad cold/flu.
I got back on Saturday, went to an emergency doctor Sunday and guess what. Lucky me has pneumonia!
So barring a miraculous recovery I don't think I'll make it on Saturday but wish you the rockinest of rollin' times on the night.
In true Troy Buswell style I'll sniff the stage when we play the Hydey the following Fridey. (Assuming I'm good to go by then)
SPACE RACE JOIN FORCES WITH THE CARTRIDGES & THE DISGUISE TO TAKE ON GIGANTIC IN AN EPIC FRIDEY AT THE HYDEY BATTLE THAT YOUR GRANDKIDDIES WILL ASK YOU ABOUT WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DEAF. IT'S YOUR DUTY TO BE THERE SOLDIER!
