Lane Gosnay, owner of The Bugle Boy hosts an afternoon PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE as a forum for aspiring performing songwriters. Consisting of both state and national acts, performers have ten minutes each to make The Bugle Boy stage their own. Each act performs two original songs, and a panel of judges chooses three finalists. These three are invited back to the stage at the end of the afternoon to perform one more song, and the judges select one performer that qualifies to perform at the Best Of Showcases. The Bugle Boy is an intimate Concert Hall (Listening Room) in La Grange, Texas, owned and operated by Lane Gosnay.
What is a "Listening Room" you ask? A "Listening Room" is just that. A space where you go to listen. Talking is not permitted during a performance. A "Listening Room" environment creates the best and most intimate experience that an artist can share with his/her audience.
Because The Bugle Boy is housed in a WW I I Army Barrack, the decision was made to name it from the Andrews Sisters' 1940's hit "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. The barrack originated from the WW I I Camp Swift Infantry Base in Bastrop, Texas.
The Bugle Boy offers a wide variety of musical experiences that include blues, rock, country, jazz, swing and everything in between. The focus is on original, independent singer/songwriters. In addition to wonderful music, the Bugle Boy offers coffee drinks, fine wines and beer, and is ALWAYS a NON-SMOKING establishment.

Tonight there is a winter storm warning for a pile of snow here at the foot of Virginia's Blue Ridge. It might slow me down getting out the door a little bit to start this tour, but it will be only a memory by the time the tour van pulls into La Grange next Friday night. The new CD will be meeting me in Belton the night before, an added treat.
