Sounds LikeHere's some nice stuff people have said about us : )

"How cute is too cute? How nice is too nice? These are serious ethical questions asked by the three social scientists (combined age: 61) named after nature's tidiest hivers. The questions are phrased as lo-fi indie pop - voice, guitar and synth songs classified as solids ('My Kaleidoscope'), liquids ('Internal World') or gas ('Fluffy Clouds Of Joy'). The songs are composed from the insides of brightly-coloured children's rides, for empiric reasons."

-PLAN B

"The Bumblebees is probably one of my new favourite bands, and they earned the title after just one single release. "Bumblebees EP" is a self-released little thing with SO much charm and this is the perfect medicine on a bad day. One listen to The Bumblebees and you are cured! It's obvious that the trio enjoys playing together, and this has a great impact on my enjoyment of the music. The melodies are ace and the band also seem to work a lot on the rhythmic parts of the music. It's easy both to sing and move around to these songs. You can order the EP through The Bumblebees myspace, and please do, – you won't regret it!"

-EARDRUMS MUSIC

"The Bumblebees are a darker and richer confection than any thousand of the usual suspects could manage...The Bumblebees are fucking lovely and define 'indie' in a very good way."

-UNPEELED

"The Bumblebees make great simple pop music. Like Thomas Tantrum and Cheeky Cheeky and The Nosebleeds they have Smiths influenced guitar lines. They also have charm and subtle finesse. "Fluffy Clouds Of Joy" will certainly find itself being put in between "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 and Foals on indie house-party mix tapes over the next few months. Their recently released EP contains enough hum-along moments to entice the most hard nosed indie extremist into submission."

-XOX

"The Bumblebees are three girls and boys from Bristol, they all sing, they play infectious new wave kaleidoscope synths, scratchy busy flitty guitars and clever bass. Infectious pop songs and they sound like a band that's called The Bumblebees should sound – all flowers and sunshine and black and gold stripes and buzz buzz honey-good. And their very existence is all part of the plan to pollinate your ears with the joy of their other-pop and their clever simplicity and innocent goodness. Kind of sharp-cut lo-fi new wave pop clarity and Vision On creativity and X and Y enjoyment and musical chemicals that will tell you that your chromosomes are happy. Four catchy songs for your brain and how it works, and nothing that will ever let you down, we like these Bumblebees."

-ORGAN MAGAZINE

"The Bumblebees are tons of fun in the same way that making your own Lemonade is, and with the similar qualities of sweetness masking sharpness."

-ANEWBANDADAY.COM

"Yep, they're a bit pop and a bit twee, but it's not all honey-coated - there's a sting in their pop tail (the bee puns end here I promise please keep reading). Full to the brim with party pop wonder, they share Bearsuit's knack for writing tunes that are at once comforting and familiar yet full of surprises - like a blanket filled with tiger cubs. You'll love them."

-OMG! MANCHESTER

"Our new favourite band!"

-SPIRAL SCRATCH

"The Bumblebees are a bunch of youngsters from Bristol who make an old man feel even older."

-INDIE-MP3

"Indiepop's big find of 2009! A supercute Bristol three-piece with the best candyfloss tunes and the biggest grins. Brilliantly inventive and totally irresistible."

-SPARKLEMOTION

"There is a band in Bristol that has it all. Ellis, Roz and Bert are Bumblebees that have given me many joys in recent days."

   About THE BUMBLEBEES (official)
we are the bumblebees, a well-formed three-piece with enough audacity to play for half an hour. we have ambition. we have morals. we have fun.

our beloved friend, lover, teacher and bassist, bert "the oyster" clark has officially departed from bumbledon. he will be missed, especially when he moves to canada in june. good luck, bertie, don't forget the funk! meanwhile, natalie jela who has reached high amounts of jelafame starring as natalie jela in 'the jelas' has kindly stepped in as a temporary bassist. we can't wait to play with her..

we have just released our first ep. it costs £3.95, and that includes postage to ANYWHERE in the WORLD!!! click on the picture to buy it!

I watched School of Rock the other night and when they were thinking of names for the band they came up with The Bumblebees! That's almost kind of advertising in a film.

Haha! One day I would like to figure out the Shake Some Action lead guitar parts too!

That's the bit I meant, I think, the yearning middle 8! I love the way it ends on a spread chord too!

I saw you had a gig at Fuel and was thinking that would be a fun way of spending a Saturday evening, however, I think I may be going to go and see Damo Suzuki from Can in a woods somewhere in the Lake District, possibly.

OH MY GOD! ME TOO! Throughout my teenage years, even considering all my other teenage power pop obsessions - notably Big Star - Yes It's True has been the one song that Ive obsessed over above all and spent the most hours listening to over and over again! I think it's one of those songs that made me want to fall in love long before it actually happened, and probably almost made me want to have yearning unrequited love so I could make songs like this! And then when it did actually happen, it totally lived up to this song!

I the love crisp guitar sound SO much! And the kind of regretful rhythm of the guitar! I've never figured out how to play it though! It's such a perfect power ballad, perfectly formed from that introductory drum beat to the yearning middle 8 and the resolution of the final outro! I even love the way it ends!

I think for me, Shake Some Action, Yes It's True and Slow Death are the outstanding crucial three Flamin' Groovies songs.

I've been trying to change my music style to 'powerpop' for ages, but myspace won't let me : (.

Hahaha sorry to rave on, I genuinely love Yes It's True so much!
