| About The Burning Mirage |
The Burning Mirage was formed by Cody Munzert and Stephen Griffin in
the spring of 2008. They acquired their first guitarist, Jeff
McCord, in June of 2008. The Burning Mirage made their debut in
the Unicity Emerging Artist Contest 2008 winning 1st place at the preliminaries and securing a slot to perform at the Unicity Festival 2008. In August 2008, the Burning Mirage picks up Giovanni Bovenzi as a lead singer and rhythm guitarist and competes in the finals with feedback from the judges of “future potential” and “great artistic ability”.
Months later, lead guitarist Jeff McCord decides to take another direction in music leaving The Burning Mirage a trio. In December 2008 The Burning Mirage jumps in the studio to record a few demo songs including their new original works. They continue to play public performances at Premier Centre for the Arts and their restaurant debut at Bellefonte Café for receptive audiences. In February, they submit to the 2009 Unicity Festival (held in Salisbury , Maryland ), and along with re-entering the 2009 Emerging Artists Contest, are granted the opportunity to open Saturday’s Festival day on the High Arts Stage. As a promo for the Unicity Festival 2009, The Burning Mirage travels to Ocean City , Maryland to play on a live broadcast for Ocean 98.1fm radio introducing “ Forest of Illusion ” and “Summertime” to thousands of listeners on the airwaves. They are currently the youngest musicians to have performed in the Ocean 98.1 fm studio and on “Live Lixx at Six” with DJ BK. During preparations for the upcoming Unicity contest, The Burning Mirage has another change in their band line-up. In the present times musicians worldwide struggle to make a living, but Cody and Stephen thrive to live their dreams on the stage.
